Hogwarts is famed for the four houses that celebrate the founders: Slytherin, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff. In Hogwarts Legacy, players are allowed to chance the fashionable sorting hat and be placed in their common room. Hogwarts Legacy has an immense level of detail for each of the four common rooms, and Hufflepuff features plenty of things the player might have missed.

However, since Hogwarts is filled with a marvelous mystery, it’s no surprise that when players venture through their chosen common room, it would be brimming with secrets and things the player might have missed. The Hufflepuff common room is no exception in Hogwarts Legacy, and there’s plenty to observe and enjoy.

7 Fat Friar

As Hufflepuff students wander through their common room, they may find a rather friendly ghost that seems to reside within the common room and has a personality different from other ghosts. This character isn’t just a random ghost but is Fat Friar, a famed character from the franchise who focuses on religion and forgiveness, a character the player will not have to fight with the best spells in Hogwarts Legacy.

Fat Friar was a wizard who was taught at Hogwarts, and in his death, became the house ghost of Hufflepuff. Fat Friar is extremely friendly and welcoming, and players will be able to hear him chatting on occasion. His joyful personality makes him a welcome addition to Hufflepuff.

6 Helga Hufflepuff

Above the central fireplace of the Hufflepuff common room is a living painting of a woman. This woman is Helga Hufflepuff, one of the original four founders of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Helga Hufflepuff was compassionate and chose students that were loyal and hard-working, rather than their bloodline, or power.

The portrait of Helga shows her with her cup, a powerful relic with unknown magic. Later in the franchise, this cup was stolen by Tom Riddle and turned into a Horcrux. Seeing this portrait and cup decades before its manipulation is quite ominous.

5 House Of Herbology

There’s plenty of natural beauty in the Hufflepuff common room. From dancing cacti to plants that cover the ceiling. Players may wonder why there are so many plants around the common room, and that’s because Hufflepuff represents the house of earth, showing their natural love and desire for plant life. A similar setting can be unlocked at the Room of Requirement, thanks to Deek.

It’s also worth noting that later in the house’s future, Pomona Sprout becomes the head of Hufflepuff, who is also the head of Herbology at Hogwarts. This may be hinted at due to the interesting plants that already exist around the common room.

4 Talking Mirrors

As players walk through the Hufflepuff common room in Hogwarts Legacy, they may find someone complimenting them, or asking them to visit. What may seem like just a strange comment from another student, will have players searching for the voice, as it is none other than a talking mirror.

Talking mirrors are quite common in Hogwarts and this show how enchanted and magical objects with a level of sentience are part of the charm of Hogwarts. The talking mirror in the Hufflepuff common room is a rather wholesome addition and fits with the vibe of Hufflepuff.

3 Food Relations

The foods of Hufflepuff may relate in homage to the founder, Helga Hufflepuff, as Helga was very invested and highly talented in food-related charms, and her recipes are used throughout Hogwarts’ kitchen. Her large appetite may be why Hufflepuff has so many snacks.

2 Barrel Entrance

The witches and wizards of Hufflepuff may be so enamored by the beauty of their common room and the excitement of their school to even notice and appreciate the detail of the Hufflepuff entrance. To enter the common room, players will have to go through an opening large barrel with gargoyle heads on either side, with no spells required.

This barrel entrance may not be as sophisticated as the Slytherin secret common room door, but the Hufflepuff entrance perfectly fits in the cozy theme of its house and is a detail that many should notice as they leave or enter Hufflepuff’s common room.

1 Quidditch Pride

Around Hufflepuff’s common room exists plenty of paintings, posters, and artifacts involving Quidditch. It seems as if Hufflepuff are obsessed with Quidditch, adores the game, and takes complete pride in their house’s commitment to it. This is an interesting study, as Hufflepuff has never exactly been good at it, despite the decent gear.

Hufflepuff’s Quidditch pride may come from a few things, perhaps before the series’ films and books, Hufflepuff was very good at the famed game. Alternatively, Hufflepuff may be dedicated to Quidditch, as despite their failure, they are a house of dedication, and strive to win, no matter how many deterred losses.

Hogwarts Legacy is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. PS4 and Xbox One ports are scheduled to release on April 4. The Nintendo Switch version is arriving on July 25, 2023.
