The potion itself consists of a single drop of Horklump Juice, a batch of Dittany Leaves, and a base bottle of Wiggenweld potion. Players can combine these ingredients in a cauldron to create a consumable Wiggenweld potion that can be used on their adventures to restore health in a pinch. There is a chance that players may also be able to buy the potion from areas in Hogwarts Legacy such as Hogsmeade or other in-game stores, though this is yet to be confirmed.

The Wiggenweld potion has a long history as part of the Harry Potter franchise, perhaps most famously being drank by Harry prior to him and Albus Dumbledore visiting a seaside cave in search of a Horcrux belonging to Lord Voldemort. It has a history of restoring health and stamina, and thus makes perfect sense to be the primary method through which Hogwarts Legacy players can restore their health. Several nods to Harry Potter can be found in Hogwarts Legacy, such as the ability to battle Trolls or find Peeves the Poltergeist harassing younger students, and they will be much appreciated by older fans of the franchise.

While it was very clear from the onset that healing potions would be an integral part of Hogwarts Legacy, for them to come in the form of a memorable item from the Harry Potter franchise is a welcome surprise to many fans. Other references, such as a possible nod to Tom Riddle's Hogwarts diary, paint the possibility of Hogwarts Legacy delving into darker tones and deadly quests, both of which would likely necessitate the brewing of dozens of Wiggenweld potions.

Hogwarts Legacy launches on February 10 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, April 4 for PS4 and Xbox One, and July 25 for Nintendo Switch.
