Hogwarts Legacy has been released and features a metric tonnage of Wizarding World material, from spells and locations to visit to friends and foes alike. Despite bosses being a significant part of the game, players have managed with a lot of dodge rolling and spell combinations to get through them.

However, not all the bosses in Hogwarts Legacy are equal, plenty are a lot more manageable than others. While the variety in the style of bosses from dark wizards to magical creatures and even a dragon makes for different fighting styles working better sometimes, there are still some bosses that are indisputably more difficult than others.

6 Fastidio’s Monster

Hogwarts Legacy Fastidio's Monster

One of the more unique fights in Hogwarts Legacy comes during the side quest “Minding Your Own Business” when the player comes up against Fastidio’s Monster. The tricks played by the monster through the fight, making it more difficult to keep control and playing tricks on the mind of the player character, make for a really fun fight which is also quite challenging.

Though it is optional, Fastidio’s Monster is a worthy boss fight that deserves to be explored, and while the early fight isn’t challenging because of the monster’s severely limited range, players should keep in mind that their ancient magic should be held in reserve for the brutal third phase of combat. This is when Fastidio’s Monster will quite literally invert everything, and the player’s screen will be a lot more uncomfortable to try and keep track of. The best policy is to save all ancient magic for this phase to try and make it as short as possible.

5 Solomon Sallow

“In The Shadow Of The Relic” is another side quest that ends with a boss fight, and it is another especially irritating one. Solomon Sallow is a tough dark wizard to fight, but the bigger issue is that he comes with friends in the form of Inferi who are continuously spawning and coming after the player character.

While this appears at first to make things much more difficult, players can win this battle by focusing on Solomon himself and merely using spells like protego whenever any of the Inferi get too close. While this is another optional side quest boss, players have to beat Solomon and finish this quest to get the usage of Avada Kedavra, the extremely useful killing curse.

4 Pensieve Guardian

Hogwarts Legacy Pensieve Guardian

The Pensieve Guardian is one of the scariest creatures players will see so early in Hogwarts Legacy. Appearing at first in the prologue, the Guardian has to be fled from due to the under-leveling, leaving Ranrok to fend for himself. However, the player has the opportunity to go after the guardian again later in the game.

During Percival Rackham’s trials, the Pensieve Guardian can be squared off with once more, and it is unsurprisingly revealed to be one of the more brutal fights in the game. With a lot of health, the ability to attack brutally and quickly, and unblockable orbs, players need to be at their best, always wait for openings to attack, and try to parry at the right time to negate the orbs as well.

3 Victor Rookwood

Hogwarts Legacy Victor Rookwood

Despite being the second most terrifying force of evil in Hogwarts Legacy, Victor Rookwood isn’t actually that demanding a boss battle. At least, he wouldn’t be that bad if he wasn’t surrounded by fellow dark wizards, all of whom are looking to help him bring down the player's character.

It is possible to take out all of his fellow dark wizards before going after Victor, but the easiest and quickest way to end the fight is to stupefy Victor, breaking his shield apart, and then focusing on high-damage spells while he is unable to get his spells together. Rookwood and his henchmen form a challenging task overall, but it is possible to bring them down.

2 Graphorn

Hogwarts Legacy Male Graphorn

While it seems strange that so random an encounter with a magical creature should provide such an overly challenging boss fight, the male Graphorn is an absolutely devastating encounter that provides a huge challenge in Hogwarts Legacy during San Bakar’s Trial. It is difficult to even know where to begin with the Graphorn fight.

Ancient magic is not to be wasted here and needs to be used at the right moments. Waiting out as much as possible in order to find the right openings is key in this dangerous fight. The Graphorn is swift, has mighty charge attacks, and has an awful lot of health. It is important to focus on dodging and staying in the fight as opposed to going for an all-out offense.

1 Ranrok Dragon

Hogwarts Legacy Ranrok Dragon

The final boss of Hogwarts Legacy is, unsurprisingly, the most challenging and powerful boss in the entire game. It is incredibly difficult to block most of the dragon’s attacks, so players should focus primarily on dodging instead in this fight.

Unfortunately, even Avada Kedavra isn’t much use if players have unlocked it, since the Ranrok Dragon is the Harbinger of Death itself the damage is minimal. Instead, players should use spells like Glacius and follow with combos of other high DPS spells like Confringo and Depulso, ensuring most of all just to continuously dodge and survive.
