Hogwarts Legacy is giving away free PS5 avatars along with entry into a sweepstakes with a chance to win a copy of Hogwarts Legacy Collector's Edition as well as a brand-new PS5 console, all for participation in its online House Cup. Just as players can sync up their Pottermore accounts with Hogwarts Legacy to port over their house, logging into their PSN account will provide access to unique content. Players can express to their friends which house they like to represent or which magical beast is their favorite, and all that's required is to complete a few easy tasks.
Hogwarts Legacy was officially released on February 10th, though some people who bought the deluxe edition have been playing it since the 7th. While it's been out about a week, the game has smashed sales records and far outpaced the number of copies sold by 2022 Game of the Year Elden Ring in its first week in the UK, and that's just with physical copies sold, as the digital sales haven't been reported. With 850,000 concurrent players reported playing the game on Steam though, there's clearly a huge amount of people enjoying Hogwarts Legacy right now. With so many people playing, it's natural that Hogwarts Legacy would start producing content meant to draw the community together so players can share their accomplishments.
If fans scroll down on playstation.com's Hogwarts Legacy page, they'll find the option to join PlayStation's Hogwarts Legacy House Cup. By signing in with a PSN account, players are then given access to mini-game style tasks that, once completed, offer players bundles of avatars that can be redeemed in the PS Store. Players join their house and compete with the others, earning points by finishing four tasks, which also unlocks the house crest avatars. There will be two winners of the sweepstakes, one from both the US and the UK.
The entry window for the contest has already begun and will end on February 22 at 11:59pm ET. According to the PlayStation Hogwarts Legacy House Cup Sweepstakes official rules, the winners will be decided on or shortly after the entry window closes with a random drawing that will pull from every eligible entry.
Currently, Slytherin house is in the lead, and without Dumbledore there to award some last-minute points it seems they may run away with it – though there's been no indication that the house gets anything for winning. Only the two lucky players who win the drawing have been confirmed to get the PS5 and the Hogwarts Legacy Collector's Edition.
Hogwarts Legacy is available to play now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S with PS4 and Xbox One versions coming April 4 and a Nintendo Switch port dropping July 25.
