Harry Potter fans have noticed a rather disturbing detail in the latest video promoting the upcoming Hogwarts Legacy video game that may have slipped by some viewers. There's been a great deal of hype for Hogwarts Legacy ever since the game was first announced, and after quite a long wait, the game's release date is very nearly here.

Barring any further delays, the Hogwarts Legacy release date is currently pegged for February 10. Those that are willing to shell out the extra cash to pre-order the Deluxe Edition, Digital Deluxe Edition, or Collector's Edition of Hogwarts Legacy will get to start their Hogwarts adventures even earlier, gaining access on February 7 instead. Regardless, it's safe to say that many excited Harry Potter fans are counting down the days until they get to play Hogwarts Legacy for themselves, and to keep them buzzing, developer Avalanche Software has regularly been revealing new information about the game.

Besides revealing some of Hogwarts Legacy's professors, Avalanche Software has also released a series of ASMR videos that give players an extended look at some of the game's environments. The latest video shows what Hogwarts Legacy's areas look like in autumn, depicting a "calm autumn morning" and showing off the grounds surrounding Hogwarts castle. However, fans have noticed that this seemingly innocent video hides a dark secret: presumably dead bodies suspended cocooned in spiderwebs can be seen in one of the clips.

As pointed out by Reddit user Wifeline48, the hanging bodies can be spotted at around the 4:30 minute mark in the ASMR video. The main focus of th video appears to the magical mushrooms jumping out of the ground, but anyone that looks beyond them and in the treeline will be able to see the bodies. Presumably, this is an area from the Forbidden Forest that's near Hogwarts and is host to all kinds of dangerous creatures, though that has not been clarified at the time of this writing.

It's been known that Hogwarts Legacy would have giant spiders ever since one was spotted in the game's cover art by eagle-eyed fans last year, and it seems that there's been no plans to remove them from the game. Huge magical spiders play a major role in the Harry Potter books and films, so it makes sense that they would be featured in the video game as well. There's been no word on if Hogwarts Legacy will have an arachnophobia mode to hide the spiders like some games have used recently, but fans will find out come launch early next year.

Hogwarts Legacy launches February 10 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X with a Switch version also in development.
