Hogwarts Legacy was originally scheduled to launch in 2021, but the game was ultimately pushed back to 2022. It was then announced that the Hogwarts Legacy release date was delayed yet again, with the game now scheduled to launch on February 10, 2023. While Harry Potter fans may be disappointed that they have to wait longer to play Hogwarts Legacy, others may be relieved that the game finally has a solid release date.
A new trailer for Hogwarts Legacy dropped at Gamescom 2022, focusing mostly on Dark Arts magic, Unforgivable Curses, and Slytherin student Sebastian Sallow. The trailer concluded by confirming the pre-order bonuses that fans can expect when they pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game. Fittingly, Hogwarts Legacy Digital Deluxe Edition pre-orders will net Hogwarts Legacy players the Dark Arts Pack, which comes with a Thestral Mount, Dark Arts Cosmetic Set, and Dark Arts Battle Arena.
Hogwarts Legacy Digital Deluxe Edition pre-orders also include an Onyx Hippogriff Mount, the Dark Arts Garrison Hat, and 72 hours early access. This means anyone that pre-orders the Hogwarts Legacy Digital Deluxe Edition can jump into the game a few days ahead of everyone else, which is good news for those that just can't wait for the game's February 10 release date.

The Hogwarts Legacy Digital Deluxe Edition pre-order bonuses leaked ahead of time, so hardcore Harry Potter fans may have already known what to expect. However, it's nice to have official confirmation.
As far as the mounts go, it will be interesting to see what other mounts may be included in the game. Hogwarts Legacy will have all kinds of magical beasts for players to interact with, and it stands to reason that some of them may be ridden as well. We've known for quite some time that Hogwarts Legacy will let players ride hippogriffs, but now that we know for sure that thestrals are included, it blows the door open for other magical beasts to be featured as well.
The inclusion of a thestral as a mount in Hogwarts Legacy has interesting implications for the game's main character. As those familiar with Harry Potter lore know, thestrals can only be seen by characters who have seen someone die, and so that may have an impact on the Hogwarts Legacy story.
Hogwarts Legacy launches February 10 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X, with a Switch version also in development.
