It's been a longer than anticipated road for the highly anticipated Wizarding World game, Hogwarts Legacy. Following a major State of Play reveal earlier this year, Avalanche has been slowly drip feeding details to fans through short clips like an ASMR video focused solely on some of the environments players will be able to explore in game. As the game slowly approaches its release date early in 2023, new details continue to arrive.

The latest information came during Gamescom 2022 as Hogwarts Legacy not only got an extended gameplay trailer with new story details, but pre-order and digital deluxe details also came out. Inside the trailer, fans got a look at dark magic and forbidden spells like Crucio before fighting a horde of skeletons. Following that reveal, Avalanche has also revealed the contents of the Hogwarts Legacy Collectors Edition, as well as when players can place a pre-order.

Taking to Twitter, the official Hogwarts Legacy Twitter account showed off the Collector's Edition through an image with all of the content players can get access to. Interestingly enough, the collection of content may not be too surprising to fans as a Hogwarts Legacy leak from earlier in the summer ultimately spoiled much of the surprise. Although no price was given, the Collector's Edition comes with a Steel Case and unique box that houses a life-size floating wand above a book base.

In addition to those physical items, the Hogwarts Legacy Collector's Edition also features a bunch of digital items to help customize the player's experience. THis includes the Dark Arts Pack containing a unique cosmetic set, the Thestral Mount, and Dark Arts Battle Arena. On top of that, players will be getting the Kelpie Robe, Dark Arts Garrison Hat, and 72 hour Early Access to the game on Feb 4, 2023. Interested players can place a pre-order starting on August 25, 2022 at 8am PT/11am ET.

Earlier this month, fans were surprisingly met with the disappointing news that Hogwarts Legacy would not be making its original holiday 2022 date. Delays have becoming fairly common in 2022, with over 40 games already shuffling around, leaving major holes in what originally was going to be a busy fall and winter 2022. With Hogwarts Legacy getting delayed into February 2023, the first part of 2023 is going to be extremely busy and competitive as games like Forspoken, Dead Island 2, Street Fighter 6, Resident Evil 4 Remake, and more will be vying for time and attention in the first three months alone.

Hogwarts Legacy launches February 10 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X, with a Switch version also in development.
