Hogwarts Legacy first launched earlier this year and earned mostly positive reviews from critics. Many were impressed with the game's recreation of Hogwarts and the surrounding grounds, with particular praise for its high-quality graphics and impressive performance.

As time goes on, the seasons change at Hogwarts, with weather and decorations changing to match. Many were particularly impressed with Hogwarts Legacy's Halloween and Christmas decorations, and so want the option to bring them back after they've reached the endgame content.

Hogwarts Legacy Fans Have Theories About the Sequel

Hogwarts Legacy fans have some theories about what the sequel might entail based on the Harry Potter franchise timeline.

Unfortunately, beating Hogwarts Legacy's main quest means players are stuck in spring, which doesn't include any special decorations for Hogwarts castle and has basic weather. Fans have been asking for Hogwarts Legacy to add an option to change the seasons, but no such feature has made it into the game as of this writing. Hogwarts Legacy reminded fans of that fact with a tweet showing off the Halloween decorations that players can see in Hogwarts during that time of year. Anyone that wants to revisit Hogwarts for Halloween will have to start a new save and progress far enough in the story for the holiday to roll around.

This is obviously not ideal, but it doesn't look like Hogwarts Legacy is going to add the option to change seasons at any point in the near future. On the bright side, the game does encourage players to create a character for each Hogwarts House, as they all have a unique quest tied to them. Someone that has yet to fully complete the game may want to jump in as a new character and play to Halloween to celebrate spooky season. Others may want to consider making multiple save files at the start of each holiday celebration so they can visit Hogwarts during Christmas when that time of year comes around as well.

It's entirely possible that the option to change seasons will come to Hogwarts Legacy in a future update, but updates for the game have slowed to a crawl, so fans shouldn't hold their breath Right now, the developers are focused on shipping the Nintendo Switch version of Hogwarts Legacy, which is fast nearing its November 14 release date. And if rumors are true, development has also started on the Hogwarts Legacy sequel, so there may not be much time to add new features to the original game.

Hogwarts Legacy is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X with a Switch version releasing November 14.
