A Hogwarts Legacy player points out a plot hole related to the beds in the game. Hogwarts Legacy came out on current-generation consoles and PC in February 2023, while its PS4 and Xbox One versions launched in May.

Hogwarts Legacy received positive reviews upon its release, and its PS5 version has a score of 84 on Metacritic. Users praised the combat of Hogwarts Legacy, with Hogwarts Castle also receiving a lot of recognition, as many gamers appreciated the level of detail present in its design and layout. However, it looks like the design of Hogwarts Castle is not perfect, as one fan points to a strange plot hole with its beds.

A Reddit user named TheSerpentLord has made a new post on Reddit with this detail, stating that the number of NPCs in Hogwarts Legacy greatly outweighs the number of beds available in the game. The player claims to have been roaming around the Common Rooms in Hogwarts Legacy when they realized that the number of characters in the Great Hall alone is way higher than the actual beds, even when considering the available bedrooms in all four houses of Hogwarts Legacy. TheSerpentLord makes note of Hogwarts Castle being densely populated at all times, but the number of beds isn’t reflective of the total number of students.

One user in the comments section states that they can suspend their disbelief in cases like this, as there is probably a limit to the size of Hogwarts Castle in Hogwarts Legacy. Some players also mention that Hogwarts likely has additional rooms that are much bigger, but they don’t appear that large from the outside. Most gamers imply that anything is possible with magic, while one user mentions that the Hufflepuff common room is especially small.

This post spawned a surprising number of discussions, including one on the total heating bill for Hogwarts Castle. Overall, it looks like the beds not matching the total number of students is not a big deal Hogwarts Legacy fans, as one player shares a list of other inconsistencies in the world.

Even though the number of beds may not accurately represent the number of students, Hogwarts Legacy is filled with other bits of detail that users may find interesting. As an example, one fan recently shared an amazing detail about hippogriffs in Hogwarts Legacy, as they found one fishing in the wild.

Hogwarts Legacy is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, with a Nintendo Switch port launching on November 14.
