Hogwarts Legacy's recreation of Hogwarts castle is extremely accurate to the book series, as confirmed by some recent videos that have compared the two. Hogwarts Legacy has earned mostly positive reviews since its release, with near-universal praise for how the game effectively brings Hogwarts castle and the world of the Harry Potter franchise to life.

Hogwarts Legacy lets players explore Hogsmeade and much of the surrounding countryside, but it's safe to say most Harry Potter fans will find Hogwarts castle itself to be the most interesting location in the game. Hogwarts Castle in Hogwarts Legacy is massive and filled with secrets, with players able to explore basically the entire castle as much as they'd like. Some areas are blocked off by puzzles, and others require players have the Alohomora spell upgraded, but otherwise Hogwarts can be freely explored.

While Hogwarts Legacy players explore Hogwarts castle, they may want to seek out locations described in the Harry Potter book series. TikTok user kingmoraj has been uploading clips that compare Harry Potter audio book readings to their locations in Hogwarts Legacy, underlining just how accurate the game is to the books. One of the most popular of these clips shows the Hogwarts Legacy student coming across the statue of Boris the Bewildered, as described in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Following the book's description, the player character goes through a door and winds up in a bathroom that looks near-identical to how it's described in the pages of Goblet of Fire.

Another clip shows the Hogwarts Legacy player visiting the Deathday room as described in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Here, players can find some of Hogwarts' ghosts hanging out around tables filled with rotten food that they fly through because they think they can almost taste the rancidness.

Anyone interested can check out kingmoraj's TikTok page for the rest of the videos, but another impressive one showcases Harry's arrival to Hogwarts as depicted in the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone book. In this clip, players see the train platform, the steep stairs as described in the book, the black lake, and ultimately the trip to Hogwarts castle proper.

Of course, anyone that has played Hogwarts Legacy will know that their arrival to Hogwarts castle doesn't exactly play out like Harry's first visit to the place, but it's cool that players can still visit these iconic locations for themselves.

Hogwarts Legacy is out now for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X with PS4 and Xbox One versions coming April 4 and a Nintendo Switch port dropping July 25.
