There are many types of quests in Hogwarts Legacy, but one of the more important categories for the story and backgrounds of specific characters is relationship quests. These quests in Hogwarts Legacy allow the new fifth-year student to better understand and learn things about their companions, and to progress the stories of these interesting classmates.

Through these relationship quests, players might even unlock a new spell or two. However, spells are not the only prizes given out for completing these storylines; in fact, their capacity to enrich the experience of Hogwarts Legacy is reward enough on its own. These quests help craft meaningful connections within the game.

8 Fire And Vice

As if Hogwarts Legacy couldn’t involve the magical and mystical enough, it goes ahead and introduces dragons and centaurs into the mix. Fire And Vice is a relationship quest involving Poppy Sweeting, which sees the witch and the fifth-year student stumble into an opposed dragon fighting ring.

It shows the cruelty of some people that are gifted with magic, and how they would use that magic to turn on mythical beasts like dragons. Players will fight waves of enemies and involve themselves with a dangerous dragon, all for the safety of a dragon egg.

7 The Centaur And The Stone

If players pick Hufflepuff as their house, they will have Poppy as a companion. She helps them explore the more mythical side of Hogwarts Legacy. Although players will be used to battling with spells and wands, The Centaur And The Stone takes things in a different direction, which is quite refreshing. The protagonist and Poppy will enter the Moonstone Garden, venture through puzzles, and defeat dugbogs to reach their prize.

The Centaur And The Stone is a great relationship quest because it puts magic on full display and highlights the game's wondrous exploration. As a bonus, majestic centaurs are also involved. Poppy’s chain of quests has all sorts of magical beast surprises.

6 A Bird In The Hand

Continuing Poppy’s relationship quests, A Bird In The Hand sees her and the protagonist meet Dorran southwest of Brocburrow so they can investigate some missing snidgets. The quest involves elements introduced earlier in the campaign, like the Scholar’s Moonstone, and has the player solving puzzles to progress.

As players progress through the puzzling rooms, they will find themselves using their wands to fight poachers, who are the very cause of this entire mess as they have been kidnapping innocent beasts. Defeating the poachers will allow the player to access the Snidget Sanctuary.

5 In The Shadow Of The Study

There are a few dungeons with puzzle elements in Hogwarts Legacy, and In The Shadow of the Study features one of the more lore-heavy ones. Players will venture alongside Sebastian and Ominis, two Slytherin students, as they progress through a secret room in Hogwarts built by none other than Salazar Slytherin.

Players will have to use their wits to progress, as many locked rooms involve snake puzzles and patterns. The reward for completing this quest is to learn the Unforgivable Curse known as Crucio, and players will be a step closer to discovering Slytherin’s lore and mastering the dark arts.

4 In The Shadow Of Time

Continuing along the Sebastian relationship quest, In The Shadow of Time features the player-created Hogwarts student and Sebastian as they explore a catacomb. There are spiders galore within these caves, so players should be using damage and flame spells, as well as keeping their arachnophobia in check.

Venturing through the puzzle rooms is rewarding enough, but players will also have the option to learn the Imperio curse, another Unforgivable Curse. In The Shadow of Time is a lore-heavy quest, with plenty of action and fights, as well as defining moments between Ominis and Sebastian.

3 In The Shadow Of The Relic

There is perhaps one of the most important choices in Hogwarts Legacy awaiting the end of this relationship quest, as players will be given an offer from Sebastian, one involving a certain Unforgivable Curse. Sebastian will offer to teach the player Avada Kedavra, the curse that can instantly kill enemies.

2 A Basis For Blackmail

Hogwarts Legacy Talking To Natsai

In classic Hogwarts fashion, students seem to love breaking the rules and sneaking out of classes, disobeying professors as they try to find adventure. A Basis For Blackmail features just that and involves Natsai Onai sneaking out of school, and out of her mother’s watchful eye, to continue her and the player’s quest for justice.

There may be a notable lack of action in A Basis For Blackmail, but the quest's explorative and tracking aspects more than make up for it. It’s fun to have a quest in which the player feels the responsibility of being a student, and they can’t just free roam around without consequences.

1 Harlow’s Last Stand

Near Manor Cape, players will begin Harlow’s Last Stand, an important relationship quest that involves Theophilus Harlow and the Gryffindor companion of Natsai Onai. The importance of this quest comes from the fact that players will be dealing with a dangerous wizard, Theophilus Harlow, who is known as Victor Rookwood’s right-hand man.

This Hogwarts Legacy relationship quest has the player and Natty battling Ashwinders and Harlow. This intense mission is filled with action and spellcasting as the duo works together to bring a sense of justice to Hogwarts and the Wizarding World. It’s one of the last quests in Natty’s line, and one of the best, and will have people all over feeling safe, especially in Hogsmeade.

Hogwarts Legacy is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. PS4 and Xbox One ports are scheduled to release on April 4. The Nintendo Switch version is arriving on July 25, 2023.
