Gear is an important feature within Hogwarts Legacy. Not only is the gear used to increase the power of the player-created character, the newest fifth-year student at Hogwarts, but it's also used for players to express themselves. One of the five gear slots in Hogwarts Legacy is that of Neckwear Gear, which mainly features different scarves.
Considering that the gear in Hogwarts Legacy is randomly generated, there is no definitive best Neckwear Gear in the sense of stats, but there is the best Neckwear Gear in Hogwarts Legacy based on fashion. Players can express themselves through their neckwear to make their player-created character their very own witch or wizard.
6 Navigator’s Scarf
“A well-appointed scarf for witches and wizards who always know which way is north.” This scarf has a delicate pattern and looks to be made of silk. It’s one of the nicer scarves that players can wear in Hogwarts Legacy and follows a pattern that would be preferred by those who enjoy stargazing or paying attention to the night sky.
The Navigator’s scarf is a good choice but can be somewhat conflicting in its design when paired with other gear pieces in Hogwarts Legacy. The weaving of gold makes the Navigator’s scarf hold its own.
5 Loosened Crimson Lock Scarf
“A superb crimson scarf for students who have the key to everything.” This scarf is perfect for those that want to show off just how much they like the lockpicking minigame in Hogwarts Legacy. The frenzy of key designs on this red scarf makes it seem as if the player is obsessed with Alohomora.
With Alohomora, players can access locks in Hogwarts Legacy, and collect Demiguise statues at night. 13 Demiguise Moons will give players access to level 3 locks, and this scarf perfectly represents those that enjoy using magic to overcome keys, a valuable spell taught outside of classes.
4 Striped House Colour Scarf
“A well-appointed scarf striped with your Hogwarts house colors.” If players are not happily displaying a bright green, blue, yellow, or red scarf, with their house mascot sewn onto it, then they can go for something equally supportive, but more subtle with the Striped House Colour Scarf.
This scarf mutes the colors somewhat, and blends the house color of the player, mixing it with a dull gray. It’s a nice scarf, showing gentle colors that can blend with plenty of other articles of clothing that the player might want to wear during the main story.
3 Loosened House Emblem Scarf
“A superb house scarf, decorated with your house mascot, worn loose around the neck.” This scarf is rather thick and is worn casually around the neck. It’s a great design for a scarf, and the thickness of it makes it seem as if the player will be extremely warm, especially when Hogwarts Legacy features seasons and the player will be shivering in the cold and harsh snow in Hogsmeade.
With the Loosened House Emblem Scarf, players can represent their chosen house, no matter what house it is. Their color will be present, as will the house mascot. It’s a great scarf for those that enjoy their Hogwarts house, and are proud of where the sorting hat placed them.
2 Dark Arts Scarf
“A scarf for those who prefer making their journeys alone.” The caption for this scarf may fit perfectly in the theme with the player, as the majority of Hogwarts Legacy will see the player without a companion, embarking on missions or exploring on their own. Hogwarts Legacy has a lot to explore, and as the new and courageous fifth-year student, the Dark Arts Scarf could display their personality and interests quite closely.
The scarf itself has a very detailed pattern, as well as a design that fits perfectly with the other Dark Arts clothing set. However, issues arise with the Dark Arts Scarf when players realize that they can only access it if they pay for the Dark Arts DLC pack, or if the player has Hogwarts Legacy Deluxe Edition.
1 Top Of The Class Scarf
“A scarf featuring a House insignia for the brightest students, earned by completing professors’ assignments.” Players that enjoy a decent reward for a job well done should look no further than the Top of the Class Scarf. This scarf is exclusive to the challenge that requires players to complete assignments from their professors. Players should always prioritize these assignments, as they will help players to learn new spells, as well as new abilities about Hogwarts Legacy that they have yet to discover.
Not only is the Top of the Class Scarf a reward for a job well done, but it’s a great scarf in general. The design features the house colors of the player, whether that’s Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, or Ravenclaw. The Top of the Class Scarf will also feature the house mascot and will remain swept over the shoulder to show a sophisticated way to wear a scarf upon the cold neck of a Hogwarts student.
Hogwarts Legacy is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. PS4 and Xbox One ports are scheduled to release on April 4. The Nintendo Switch version is arriving on July 25, 2023.
