Highlights

  • Prioritize purchasing Low Velocity Ammo for the pistol and sniper rifle for reduced recoil and noise.
  • Silencer Type 2 is a superior upgrade that suppresses even more noise per gunshot.
  • Attachments like Scope Type 1 for Silverballer and Bolt Action/Carbon-Fiber Barrel for W2000 greatly increase precision and are worth the investment.

Hitman: Blood Money - Reprisal is a modernized port of a classic, fan-favorite entry in the iconic stealth-action series and one that sweetens up the overall experience with some really helpful modern features, like Instinct Mode and an on-screen mini-map. For both newcomers and those feeling nostalgic, it should prove to be an essential purchase.

Every Hitman Game, Ranked

With multiple games in the franchise, how does every single title in the Hitman series rank up?

It’s been almost two decades since the release of this classic title, so remembering all those important details about the game’s purchasable upgrade system may be a challenge for some. Meanwhile, new players may have no clue what to get in the first place. Those looking to succeed in Hitman: Blood Money - Reprisal should prioritize buying certain upgrades before others.

7 Low Velocity Ammo

This Special Ammo Type Produces Less Noise And Lowers Recoil

Low Velocity Ammo for the pistol and sniper rifle (and SMG, if players don’t mind being sloppy) is a brilliant choice. Not only does it lower recoil, but it helps dampen the noise a bit, which works in tandem with suppressors as well. It will prove most effective compared to the magnum rounds since firing through doors is too situational to be helpful, and the additional recoil can be disorientating.

Since it’s a Level 1 upgrade with a low price tag of $50,000 for both weapons (it is cheap when one sees 47’s annual paycheck), one can purchase this very early on and hopefully reap the benefits. It won’t fix every problem if the guards are alerted and 47’s cover is blown, though it should prove its worth in a firefight at slightly longer ranges.

6 Silencer Type 2

The Second Suppressor Is Even Quieter Than The First

A silencer is a great inclusion, and the first one will fulfill that task very nicely for a pistol and sniper rifle (and, again, if one really needs plan B, the SMG Tactical). When the game progresses, soon enough, the Silencer Type 2 will be made available.

It’s superior to the original, as it suppresses even more noise per gunshot with no further downsides. It’s whisper-quiet while still offering a skilled assassin the opportunity to take down an enemy without giving away their position so easily. While silencers can’t be used with the Silverballers' Long Slides or the SMG’s Short Barrel attachments, those are not essential since they do not muffle the gun in any way in comparison.

5 Scope Type 1 (Silverballer)

A Scope Offers Extreme Precision For Long-Range Shots

Slapping a scope onto a Silverballer handgun is a tad costly. The rail for said attachment needs to be purchased at a price of $75,000. As for the scope itself, it’s the final attachment to be unlocked, so it will take a while. $200,000 is quite a hefty sum, though it pays for quality.

Best Hitman Stories, Ranked

The best Hitman games feature twists and turns in the narrative of Agent 47's complex and murderous life.

For times when unpacking a sniper rifle may be a tad too time-consuming, whipping out a pistol and aiming down the scope may come in handy. Chances are that it may not take down a target with a single shot, but a lucky headshot may fix that should one aim carefully. It may come in handy when replaying older missions, like ‘The Murder of Crows,’ when firing a round into the cranium of Mark Puriyah II from behind the barricaded wall in the bookshop.

4 Bolt Action / Carbon-Fiber Barrel (W2000)

Both Attachments Greatly Increase The Precision Of The Sniper Rifle

These two attachments together make the W2000 a fearsome sniper rifle. Both are $150,000 and become available later in the game, though the Bolt Action attachment will require Lightweight Parts for $75,000 and will not work in tandem with any clips.

Normally, one shot is all that a skilled player would need to take out a target (e.g. revisiting ‘Curtains Down’ to snipe Alvado D’Alvade during the rehearsals). These combined attachments give the weapon pinpoint precision at the cost of a much slower firing rate and the need to reload after each shot. This shouldn’t be a problem for experienced players, as one shot is all that will be needed.

3 Scope Type 2 (Sniper Rifle)

Maximum Zoom On A Sniper Rifle Scope Is Perfect For Precise Shots

47 aiming a sniper rifle and looking at a target through the scope

There are absolutely no downsides to attaching a scope with the maximum possible range for the W2000. Well, aside from the $200,000 price tag. Plus, it’s the final possible upgrade to actually acquire in the game for the sniper rifle.

Hitman: World of Assassination - 10 Worst Items To Unlock

Hitman: World of Assassination has well over a hundred unlockable items, but some of them are terrible; here are the worst ones.

Even then, this will most certainly prove to be a treat. Levels like ‘A House of Cards’ will benefit from this, should one decide to snipe Sheikh Mohammad Bin Faisal Al-Khalifa from a bedroom window after calling him from Tariq Abdul Lateef’s phone (located in his rented hotel room). There’s not much else to say here simply because it’s pretty much perfect and goes hand-in-hand with those previous attachments.

2 Flexible Flak Vest

Damage Is Reduced By 35%, And The Benefits Are Not Lost With A Costume Change

Agent 47 holding a large weapon in Hitman: Blood Money

While skilled players probably won’t ever need to fret about getting shot, those who are less experienced should strongly consider skipping over the first two body armor upgrades. They are lost when 47 changes out of his iconic suit, ergo making them useless unless one was to either go in guns blazing without donning a disguise (which is silly) or perform a suit-only run (which is very difficult most of the time).

So, when things go sour, the Flexible Flak Vest is the best choice. It’s the final ever unlock, but it will come in handy for ‘Amendment XXV’ when Mark Parchezzi III is ready for a gunfight from afar. It’ll prove to be even more useful in higher difficulties since the guards are a tad more omniscient and may suddenly go ballistic on 47. For $200,000, it’s a ‘better safe than sorry’ kind of investment.

1 Craft Schultz Lockpick

Picking Locks Is Significantly Faster With This Special Lockpick

47 sneaking behind a waiter with a Fiber Wire in a kitchen

Picking locks can be tricky when a guard is around. If 47 is fiddling with a lock, a guard will rush over to shoo him away. If the door is unlocked while a guard is watching, this will instantly blow his cover. So, the solution is simple: get a better lockpick.

The Craft Schultz Lockpick is yet another late-game unlock, but it really does trivialize the concept of locked doors. Unlocking a door with it will take about two seconds, so accessing restricted areas before a sentry arrives is significantly easier. It’ll prove quintessential in earlier levels, like ‘A Vintage Year.’ Breaking into Don Delgado’s private quarters is much easier this way since two guards are present outside his dorm. In many scenarios involving locked doors, a quick distraction will give ample time to crack a door open for 47.

Hitman: Blood Money - Reprisal is currently available on Android and iOS devices. A Switch version is set to release on January 25th, 2024.
