Fans of the Hitman franchise have a good reason to be excited for the coming future as one of the series’ classic games will soon be getting the remaster treatment. Hitman: Blood Money — Reprisal has just been announced on the occasion of IO Interactive's 25th anniversary.

While Hitman’s World of Assassination trilogy is undoubtedly a hugely successful soft reboot of the beloved stealth video game series, it's important to note that the earlier entries in the franchise also hold a special place in the hearts of long-time fans. Released in 2006, Hitman: Blood Money is considered a cult classic by many gamers around the world. Featuring the iconic Agent 47 as its lethal protagonist, the game revolutionized the series at the time of its release by introducing new exciting features such as the ability to use human shields in combat or the possibility of upgrading weapons and equipment for an easier gameplay experience.

IO Interactive, in collaboration with Feral Interactive, has recently unveiled an official action-packed gameplay trailer of Hitman: Blood Money — Reprisal. The remastered and enhanced version of Blood Money will be released on mobile devices this autumn, as well as on the Nintendo Switch sometime this winter. The mobile version of Reprisal will come fully equipped with controller, keyboard, and mouse support, as well as with a completely customizable touchscreen interface.

Reprisal comes with many quality-of-life features in order to make the title more accessible for gamers on the move. Brand-new game mechanics like an Instinct Mode reminiscent of the best modern Hitman games and a permanent in-game minimap will ensure that players have all the necessary tools in order to meticulously plan their missions. With twelve sandbox levels at players' disposal, Hitman: Blood Money — Reprisal offers a wealth of opportunities for creativity and strategy, allowing players to approach their objectives in a variety of ways, such as opting for a gun-blazing approach or for a more cunning gameplay style.

Hitman: Blood Money — Reprisal presents veteran gamers with a golden opportunity to revisit and relive a legendary entry from the series while also introducing a new generation of players to the timeless allure of the Hitman games. Despite IO Interactive's announcement earlier this year that the Hitman franchise would enter a significant hiatus with no new content in sight, the potential of other classic Hitman titles to be converted to portable devices remains an exciting possibility if Reprisal turns out to be a commercial success.

Hitman: Blood Money — Reprisal is currently slated to release this fall for Mobile and this winter for Nintendo Switch.
