Far Cry 6 wants so hard to be serious but at the end of the day, it’s another bombastic title from Ubisoft. There is a portable rocket launcher players can strap to their backs and a crocodile ally that can eat people on command. Does that sound like the type of game that should skirt the line on political issues?

The game can’t have it both ways. While some reviews are not happy with the story, at least most players are happy with the aforementioned chaotic gameplay. It’s a video game. Playing it should be fun. That’s why Far Cry 6 fans have created some great memes already. Don’t take the jokes too seriously. It’s all in good fun and there will not be any spoilers for those that are interested in the story.

7 Donkey Kong’s Horde

A meme about Donkey Kong in Far Cry 6

This game has some amazing animal companions in it. Being able to sick a crocodile onto an unsuspecting group of soldiers is always satisfying. Seeing a gorilla as a partner is not that far off base then. If Far Cry 6 ever comes to the Switch, Donkey Kong should be in it.

This meme works because there are banana hordes randomly in bases all over the game as if Donkey Kong was already in it. This is also a nice callback to Donkey Kong Country which was about Donkey Kong's banana stash getting stolen. In an alternate universe, Anton Castillo was the culprit and not King K. Rool.

6 In Uranium We Trust

A meme about Uranium in Far Cry 6

Uranium is one of the currencies in the game. It allows players to upgrade or buy new backpacks for their specials. It’s an invaluable resource that should be spent wisely. It doesn’t make a lot of sense though.

Uranium is a very dangerous substance and carrying around vast quantities in pockets, or however Dani is carrying items and weapons, seems like a bad idea. This meme’s sarcastic logic is spot on.

5 Animal Alert

A meme about animal partners in Far Cry 6

The animal companions in the game, again, are great partners for when players can’t connect for true co-op. There are a lot of things that don’t add up about them though. When players are trying to sneak into a base, they might wish to send in their animal companions to do some preliminary damage.

This is a smart idea but somehow a random crocodile terrorizing a fort will also alert guards to the player’s position even if they are perfectly hidden. It’s not like these animals have names and radar beacons attached to them. So, why do these animals alert guards in this way? For that matter how did Guapo fit into that shirt?

4 Not Helping NPCs

A meme about NPCs in Far Cry 6

There are a lot of NPCs in the game but most of them can’t be directly interacted with. This is odd considering some may call for help. The woman in the meme’s image, for example, is crying for help and all players can do is watch. This example is even stranger because there is a dog nearby that can be pet.

Petting this dog while hearing this woman cry in the background can create an eerie atmosphere. Were the developers aware of this creepy juxtaposition or was it a happy accident? Whatever the case may be, it makes for one funny meme.

3 NPCs Just Passing Through

A meme about NPCs in Far Cry 6

Another funny thing about NPCs goes in the opposite direction. Some of them could not care less about the player’s activity. One example is shown above wherein the player completely wasted a checkpoint.

There were bodies and chaotic damage from buildings and cars everywhere. Then an NPC on a horse rode through like nothing was wrong. Does that say something about how messed up Yara is or is this just a funny programming bug? Like the other glitches in the game, this is one oddity that makes Far Cry 6 more fun even if it doesn't make sense.

2 We're Blue Da Ba Dee Da Ba Di

A meme about the resistance in Far Cry 6

Blue is a central color in the game’s story. The resistance uses blue as a way to signal rebels to secret bases and supply depots. Sometimes this comes in the form of a symbol written in blue, like the eye in the meme, and sometimes blue flowers signal the way.

These clues are very obvious. It’s kind of hard to imagine Anton Castillo having a hard time tracking the rebels down then. Maybe he never put the clues together but he seems like a smart man. Overlooking something as blatant as this is odd given his character. From a player's perspective, it is obviously very nice to have guiding points like blue flowers or markers.

1 My Friend Pedro

A meme about My Friend Pedro in Far Cry 6

That banana horde in the soldier base was too hard to resist not finding another meme to make fun of it with. This one riffs on My Friend Pedro which is a stylistic 2D indie shooter. The banana is sort of like the player’s companion throughout the devastating destruction they create in levels.

Having players find two special guns and the smiling banana in a base like this would have been a cool Easter egg/collaboration project. There is always time to patch this crossover in. There are other games that feature bananas heavily too so My Friend Pedro and Donkey Kong could be just the beginning of a very fruity crossover project.
