A few Tarnished enjoying Elden Ring bit off more than they could chew when a Lion Guardian turned The Lion King's classic story upside down on them. The Lion Guardian is a ferocious enemy in Elden Ring and despite not being considered a boss, similarly does not respawn upon the player character's death.

Elden Ring has been a plentiful source of entertaining, random and wacky happenings since the title's release, caused by everything from the discovery of rare interactions to lasting bugs. In an open-world as vast and compelling as the Lands Between, it is unsurprising that social media has kept up a consistent stream of this content, and on occasion the community is treated to comedy gold.

In a clip uploaded to Reddit by user shatterplays, their fight alongside fellow Tarnished had resemblance to a scene from The Lion King. Having conveniently positioned the Lion Guardian near the edge of a cliff overlooking The Great-Jar, the trio attempt to overwhelm the beast until it falls off. Equipped with a Star Fist and Blood-Hound Step, the Redditor's efforts seem fruitful, with the incapacitated Lion Guardian clawing for dear life, frames away from plummeting.

However, the Lion Guardian decides to flip the script, clipping through the geometry and ending the onslaught against it within seconds. Edited to include an altered slice from The Lion King, Mufasa's eyes burn red just before the in-game lion takes revenge, carried out to the apt tune from Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, "It Has To Be This Way."

The UI displayed has been a topic of discussion in the comments, with people drawing attention to Elden Ring's lack of official support for ultra-wide monitors being the likely culprit. Fortunately, intrepid folks found a way around this issue within mere hours of the title being released, but Elden Ring's general accessibility remains limited to this day. In a similar vein, though FromSoftware released an update that broadened cooperative and multiplayer capabilities, a mod that provided seamless cooperative functionality was published months ago, albeit on PC only.

If any daring enough wish to try and best this animal, players can travel to the Isolated Merchant's Shack Site of Grace, north-west of Caelid. Being located in Greyoll's Dragonbarrow, players should prepare themselves for this late-game area and not get caught off guard by a sudden difficulty spike while traversing Caelid.

Elden Ring is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S
