High on Life’s brand of comedy never stops even when harmlessly exploring the landscapes independent of a bounty to hunt down. Blim City acts as a sort of hub world for a large portion of High on Life, but that most certainly does not mean it is removed from the zaniness of the game’s sprinkled-in side jokes.

Exploring Blim City can allow a lot of opportunities to speak with the hodgepodge of residents who live there. Near the entrance to the slums on the right side of the road, the player may notice an alien that can be interacted with. Engaging in this conversation brings nothing but chaos. High on Life’s signature move is allowing the illusion of choice to dictate its jokes. However, this illusion still manages to make time worthwhile as these unusual interactions provide the game with some of its best content.

What Happens When Players Watch The Guy’s Bike?

Upon interacting with the alien, he will ask that the bounty hunter watch his bike for just a few moments. The player's Gatlian will automatically accept the request and volunteer that the player will watch over the bike. The bike is surprisingly normal, no doubt a riff on High on Life’s signature satire, as players anticipate even the most mundane objects to be high-tech alien hardware. However, just because it is a normal bike does not mean it isn’t still the object of someone’s desire.

No matter what, as soon as the player turns their gaze away from the bike, it will immediately disappear. Feel free to wait and watch after the bike for as long as feels comfortable, but the alien will not return until the bike has been stolen.

As soon as the player has looked away, the alien will return to find their precious bike missing. The alien will curse the bounty hunter viciously which is always a joyful time if the player enjoys getting berated by the floundering, casual cadence that writer Justin Roiland is so fond of encouraging in the vocal performers. This alien can be interacted with a few more times to explore the dialogue, but really all this sequence amounts to is a silly joke that has no consequences on the overarching story moving forward. Whether the sequence is ultimately worth it varies entirely on whether the player is going to find it as funny as High on Life's zany creators.

High On Life is available to play on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
