High on Life is a shooter that features guns that talk. These sentient weapons hail from the planet which was destroyed by the G3 Cartel. They were enslaved by this mob up until the beginning of the game wherein players will rescue Kenny. Along with Kenny, players will rescue five other weapons for a total of six.

Five of the weapons are guns while one is used exclusively for melee kills. Of the six in the game, which is the best to use? This ranking will take into account their usefulness in battle, their usefulness for exploring, and how funny they are in High on Life. There will be spoilers if one wants to keep some of these weapons a secret.

6 Lezduit

A cutscene featuring characters in High on Life

Lezduit is the ultimate weapon in the game. He is Kenny’s master who he thought died in the war. He was resurrected by the G3 Cartel although it messed him up pretty badly in the process. Even after Gene repairs him to working conditions, all he can say is his name like a Pokemon from the anime who is voiced by a Sylvester Stallone sound alike.

Lezduit has a charge of a hundred and will zap anything in its path. It truly is the strongest weapon in the game. As Lezduit doesn’t talk, it is ranked less though as the others have more colorful personalities which one would want in a comedy game. Also, it can only be used for one mission, which brings its rank down as well.

5 Knifey

A cutscene featuring characters in High on Life

Knifey is the melee weapon of the game and is a knife if that wasn’t obvious. Guns cannot be used as blunt force weapons as Knifey will always be the one to take down enemies. He is a bloodthirsty little devil as well who wants to basically drink the blood of his enemies. He is useful in the field as well as Knifey can unlock chests.

Every other gun in the game is afraid of him for rightful reasons. He is voiced by Michael Cusack who co-created Smiling Friends and also plays Pim in the show. Fans might also be familiar with his voice on Bushworld Adventures, which was a one-shot Australian spoof on Rick and Morty. Cusack’s voice of Rick in that special is closest to how Knifey sounds in High on Life.

4 Sweezy

Talking to an NPC in High on Life

Sweezy can be unlocked after players defeat Douglas in the game who is one of the first two bounty choices. She is the only female of the group and is voiced by comedian Betsy Sodaro. She has done more voice work than one can count including various characters in Bob's Burgers. Fans might also be aware of her live-action work on Comedy Bang Bang, or Disjointed.

Sweezy acts like the Needler from the Halo series. She shoots out needles which can explode in several ways. Sweezy can also shoot out a pulse that can slow down time and it’s mostly used for slowing down fans for puzzles.

3 Kenny

Fighting enemies in High on Life

Kenny is the first gun players will unlock in the game and is arguably the main character since the player character never speaks. He is voiced by Justin Roiland who created Squanch Games, but most know him for co-creating Rick and Morty. He basically has a range of two voices, Rick and Morty, and both of those show up in High on Life with Kenny sounding exactly like Morty, cadence and all.

The gun itself is a basic pistol with a decent range. The secondary shot can knock down platforms for easy access. For combat, it can launch enemies into the air for juggling purposes akin to the Devil May Cry series.

2 Gus

Talking to an NPC in High on Life

Gus will be unlocked if players choose to fight Krubis instead of Douglas for the first choosable bounty mission. Gus is like the shotgun of this game with a powerful blast but a low ammo count. His secondary fire can shoot out a buzz saw that can bounce around the environment. This blade can also piercer into certain walls for climbing purposes.

Gus has one other function as it can suck enemies in. The gun is voiced by J.B. Smoove who nerdy fans may know from Spider-Man: Far From Home and its sequel as one of Peter’s teachers. For voice work, he is Frank in Harley Quinn, one of the cartoon's most underrated characters.

1 Creature

Exploring the world in High on Life

Creature is the final unlockable weapon of the game besides Lezduit. Creature can be used more than Lezduit though as one of the main four guns. He shoots out children which can beat up enemies, similar in design to Mr. and Ms. Zurkon in the Ratchet and Clank games. His secondary fire will shoot out a hypnotic child that can take over enemies. Getting the aid of an enemy, especially in the latter half of the game, will make things easier.

Creature is voiced by Tim Robinson who most probably know from I Think You Should Leave on Netflix. Fans of that wild sketch show will be at home with Creature’s humor in High on Life. He is easily the most positive weapon of the group, trying to see the good in everyone. He’s also a good dad despite sending his children on suicide missions.

High on Life was released on December 13, 2022, and is available on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
