During such turbulent times, audiences need some quality visual comfort food now more than ever. That's certainly one reason why Ted Lasso is so popular. It's also a testament to what a real "comfort" show or movie should be. Sure, a low-stakes romp is always enjoyable. But it can get numb after a while. As such, a story can really go anywhere it wants as long as it ends in a satisfying way, and it will end up in that category. Case in point, Enola Holmes and its upcoming sequel.

The Millie Bobby Brown-led 2020 original film saw her take the role of Enola Holmes, younger sister of famed detective Sherlock Holmes (Henry Cavill) and an aspiring sleuth in her own right. The Netflix movie enjoyed a rather enthusiastic response from viewers, to the point where an inevitable sequel was quickly announced. Now, it seems things are moving along quite splendidly, as Cavill has now rather informally announced that his portion of filming for the next entry has been completed. Naturally, the current face of Superman made this information known in the most wholesome way possible.

Cavill recently posted a video on Instagram that confirms the progress of Enola Holmes 2, and it comes as just a small part of a particularly uplifting little clip. Framing everything as a motivational message while he sets out on a cold day's run, he opened with the film's update and then smoothly went on to give his followers some words of encouragement. "Today was my last day on Enola Holmes," Cavill said, "and the entire day I was thinking about not coming out and doing this run. It was a little dark and a little chilly, and I was convincing myself all day long that those are all good reasons not to run. However, I came out here, I did it, I have loved it, and it feels really, really good. So if you're sitting at home thinking about not training today, throw those trainers on, get out there, and do it. You won't regret it."

Along with his Instagram post from last year of himself building a PC, it seems as though Cavill really has a knack for relaxing videos. Granted, anybody with a voice like that could pull it off without trying. It's no wonder why he was the perfect choice to bring a gentler take on Sherlock Holmes to life for the Enola Holmes movies. While his character had a personal stake in the first entry, due to Brown's Enola spending the film searching for their mother (played by Helena Bonham Carter, who will also return for the sequel), it will be interesting to see how he fits in with the next one. Since there are 6 books in Nancy Springer's original series of Enola Holmes stories, the filmmakers certainly have plenty of material to pick from.

As the star of Netflix's The Witcher as well as an ever-growing number of other highly-regarded projects, Cavill has quickly worked his way into the hearts of fans both fresh and seasoned thanks to his undeniable talent and charm. From Man of Steel to Mission: Impossible, and beyond, he's proven time and time again that someone can be intense and a big softie all at once. Hopefully, fans will continue to see him pretty much everywhere for a long time to come.

Why not watch the original once again during the wait? After all, just because Cavill is finished filming doesn't mean the rest is done. It's not Sherlock's story anyway. So there's plenty of time to catch up for those who haven't seen the excellent Enola Holmes, and the fledgling series could always use some new fans.
