In an image posted to Twitter, Geralt can be seen with a dog named Kal at his feet who allegedly settles in Devil's Pit "several days after you get one of the "good" endings in the new quest." This is seemingly more than just a mere coincidence, as the name Kal has a special connection to The Witcher franchise.

Henry Cavill, up until recently the actor for Geralt in the Netflix adaptation, owns a dog by the same name, and the real Kal bears a striking resemblance to the one now featured in the game. To assuage any doubt, xLetalis thanked the Lead Quest Designer at CD Projekt Red for "confirming the reference." It is likely to bring a smile to Cavill's face, as the actor has been publicly vocal about his love for not only gaming but The Witcher itself.

Devil's Pit is the once curiously unused location in The Witcher 3, which now boasts a never-seen-before quest. Players were confused as to why an area that seemingly had much time dedicated to crafting it was absent of anything to do, with hackers and data miners surmising that it was likely the victim of cut content. Sensing an opportunity to rectify this, CD Projekt Red gave the Devil's Pit purpose again alongside a few weapons and armor sets to find.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available now for PC, PS4, PS5 Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
