Helldivers 2: 9 Best Items From The Democratic Detonation Warbond

While some of the items from the Democratic Detonation Warbond are great additions to the arsenal, some have players wanting more unique mechanics.

After multiple major orders went awry, Helldivers 2 players face new enemy types and increased resistance from the bug-like Terminids. By releasing new weapons, armor, and other useful combat items, this new Warbond will help equip players with new ways to protect Super Earth from the ever-evolving threats it faces.

1 CW-22 Kodiak Armor

Heavy Armor With Fortified Passive Ability

  • Costs 45 Medals to unlock

The CW-22 Kodiak Armor does not introduce a new passive ability, which is different from the armor sets in previous Warbonds. However, it does help protect the player wearing it by having solid stats, reducing recoil while crouched by an extra 30%, and adding 50% resistance to explosive damage.

This is one of the better armor abilities in the game and can help players survive a lot of damage. It can also help players be more accurate, so they can focus on sniping with the Anti-Material Rifle or hitting precise weakpoints with the Quasar Cannon.

2 CW-4 Arctic Ranger

Light Armor With An Arctic Feel

  • Page 3
  • Costs 64 Medals to unlock

The Arctic Ranger armor is a light armor set that has the Scout passive ability, like the Trailblazer Scout armor from the original Warbond. This gives the player extra information on the radar. Any pins that they place generate radar scans every two seconds, allowing them to know where enemies are before arriving at important locations. It also reduces the range at which the player is noticed by enemies, which helps players sneak past patrols.

Since this armor does not introduce a new passive ability, some players may feel that the aesthetic of the armor is almost more important than what it brings to the table for gameplay. Players who want to look and feel like an Arctic scout will love this light armor.

3 Motivational Shocks Booster

Recover Movement Speed

  • Page 1
  • Costs 15 Medals to unlock

The Motivational Shocks Booster reduces the amount of time that players are stunned or slowed by enemies. Since Terminid Hunters can slow players down with a range of attacks, this is immensely helpful when fighting the bugs. Players can continue running away from a swarm of Hunters instead of being slowed down and then dying without being able to escape.

Helldivers 2: All Boosters, Ranked

Boosters are passive buffs to different traits that Helldivers have. Some are universally useful while others are only helpful in specific situations.

The Automatons do not have slowing attacks, so this Booster is not going to see much use in fighting them, which limits its potential. The other major limitation is that it does not help players recover from all sources of slowing.

4 G-13 Incendiary Impact

Fire Grenade That Explodes On Impact

  • Costs 25 Medals to unlock

The G-13 Incendiary Impact grenade adds the utility of area-of-effect fire damage to the impact grenade. When it makes contact with anything, it instantly explodes and releases fire all around the area. Since Terminids are weak to fire, this is especially great in a pinch against them.

The instantaneous damage can save players when enemy bugs are closing in fast, and there seems to be no way out. After that, the lasting fire damage can keep a small area relatively safe for a short time. While every grenade can be helpful, this one interestingly fills a couple of different niches.

5 P-113 Verdict

Semi-Automatic Pistol

The stats for the Verdict pistol from Helldivers 2

  • Costs 60 Medals to unlock

This new sidearm is similar to the Senator revolver, which was one of the best Secondary Weapons in the game before the Polar Patriots Warbond was released. It is semi-automatic, like the Senator, but holds ten bullets instead of six. To balance the extra ammo, however, the Verdict deals slightly less damage.

With its slow rate of fire, this pistol is not able to take out huge crowds of enemies, but it does penetrate light armor, which is very helpful. Players can switch to this weapon to take out single, lightly armored enemies or use the Ballistic Shield backpack with it to charge at enemies.

6 AR-61 Tenderizer

Armor-Penetrating Assault Rifle

  • Page 1
  • Costs 20 Medals to unlock

The AR-61 Tenderizer has a few trade-offs from the game's default assault rifle, the Liberator. The Tenderizer can hold ten fewer bullets, so it must be reloaded sooner and more often. On the other hand, this new primary weapon can penetrate light armor, making it more effective at culling encroaching waves of enemies at higher difficulty levels.

Players who favor automatic weapons and want a little more out of their gun than the Liberator can offer will most likely enjoy using the Tenderizer.

7 SMG-72 Pummeler

A Powerful Submachine Gun

  • Page 2
  • Costs 60 Medals to unlock

The SMG-72 Pummeler is a powerful weapon in a small package. It is only carried in one hand, which allows players to use a Ballistic Shield backpack. It deals 65 damage with each concussive round that it fires, making each shot deal more damage than the Tenderizer, despite being a smaller weapon.

The added bonus to this SMG is that the concussive rounds it fires stagger the enemy that they hit. This can be incredibly helpful when facing a wave of enemies that are approaching quickly. The slight delay from each enemy being staggered can easily buy the other players enough time to call in an Orbital Strategem or something else to turn the tide of battle.

8 PLAS-101 Purifier

Primary Weapon That Acts Like A Mini Quasar Cannon

  • Page 3
  • Costs 80 Medals to unlock

The PLAS-101 Purifier is a new primary weapon that must be held down to charge before firing, similar to the Quasar Cannon. Unlike the Support Weapon, however, this new energy weapon still relies on ammo and only has fifteen shots before the player wielding it has to reload.
