The Bile Titan is one of the largest bugs players can encounter in Helldivers 2. It's big enough to crush any unfortunate soldier under its long, armored legs, and it can spew caustic acid at anything else that isn't quite within its reach.

The mission to liberate the galaxy from the Terminid threat includes fighting one or multiple Bile Titan in a mission, which is why everyone in the war effort should know how to exterminate these enormous bugs as quickly as possible. Here are a couple of tips to take Bile Titans down in Helldivers 2.

Updated March 18th, 2024 by Russ Boswell: Bile Titans can be one of the most imposing enemies in Helldivers 2 and can be a pretty scary foe to contend with for players who don't know how to deal with the massive bugs. These four-legged creatures will skulk across the battlefield, covering ground thanks to their immense size and are capable of taking out players in one or two swipes either with their long reach or ranged acid attack. Thankfully, Bile Titans can be killed pretty easily if players know where to target the hulking creatures. To better showcase how to defeat Bile Titans in Helldivers 2, the following guide has been updated with a video.

Bile Titan Behavior and Weak Points

You'll usually see Bile Titans as the main targets of extermination missions in Challenging difficulty. However, if you play on Hard and above, you may also encounter random titans all over the map. They do appear to become more common in higher difficulty levels, which is fitting considering how much trouble they can bring.

Bile Titans will try to trample the squad or melt Helldivers down by vomiting acid at them. If your level is high enough, get the Eagle 500Kg Bomb and drop it on the titan. This is enough to kill it immediately, though this is easier said than done since enemies tend to move away from incoming stratagems. If you really want to take a Bile Titan down, mark it for an Orbital Railcannon Strike . This instantly kills the titan, but you won't be able to call in another strike for about five minutes.

When fighting a Bile Titan, aim for its mouth and backside . The mouth is especially vulnerable when it's spewing acid, but this does require having one teammate distract it while the rest try to set up for success. If you have no choice but to shoot its legs, aim for the joints .

Bile Titan Subjugation Strategy (Weapons and Tactics)

The Recoilless Rifle and Expendable Anti-Tank (EAT) Launchers are the best handheld weapons in Helldivers 2 for dealing big bursts of damage against heavily-armored targets. If you have a well-coordinated squad, have two people act as a Recoilless Rifle team with a shooter and reloader. EAT launchers perform just as well and are better than Recoilless Rifles if the squad is getting swarmed by smaller Terminids. Three or four rockets to the mouth or back are often enough to get rid of a Bile Titan.

Speaking of swarms, anti-infantry stratagems like the Eagle Strafing Run or Orbital Gatling Barrage are great for eliminating fodder enemies around the Bile Titan. Explosive stratagems deal better damage against the titans themselves and can additionally clear whole swarms. However, these come with the risk of friendly fire, making them hard to use in chaotic scenarios.
