Bile Spewers are one of the tougher enemies you face while exterminating the Terminids in Helldivers 2. They are commonly found in medium and higher-difficulty missions alongside other enemy types such as Hunters, Warriors, and the lowly Scavengers. There is also a good chance that you get pitted against multiple Bile Spewer so knowing their weak points becomes important to dispatch them with ease in Helldivers 2.

Updated March 18th, 2024 by Russ Boswell: Some of the Terminids in Helldivers 2 can be pretty annoying to deal with. The Bile Spewers can cause a lot of problems in a group, slowing players down or outright eliminating them with a powerful ranged acid attack that covers the ground when used. To avoid becoming goo themselves, players will need to learn how to dodge and eliminate these bugs, especially when there are multiple of them in a group. To better show how to defeat Bile Spewers in Helldivers 2, the following guide has been updated with a video.

How to Beat Bile Spewers

Helldivers 2 Bile Spewer Weak Spot

Bile Spewers are quite similar to the Bile Titans in the sense that both can vomit streams of corrosive acid from range. Most players are mistakenly led to believe that these artillery attacks do damage over time. If you get caught in the middle of one of these caustic spits, you die instantly. There is no respite and your survival chances remain the same (zero) even if you are wearing heavy armor with an extra padding passive effect.

So the first thing to do when facing a Bile Spewer in Helldivers 2 is to never stand directly in its line of fire. Take advantage of their low mobility by diving to the side (or running sideways) to bait them into spraying their acid. You can also use the LIFT-850 Jump Pack stratagem (unlocks at level eight for 6,000R) to jump over the Bile Spewer.

The reason that you want to bait them is that they become stationary for a few seconds while attacking, giving you enough time to either thin the herd or reposition for a better vantage point to target their weak points.

Nursing Spewers can be easily mistaken for Bile Spewers. Nursing Spewers are orange and leave behind spore clouds. Bile Spewers are green and have medium armor on their faces and top.

Weaknesses

There are two spots on the Bile Spewer where you can focus your gunfire to do the most damage in Helldivers 2. The first one is the large, green abdominal sack at its back. This is also something that most players fire at without thinking. The problem is that shooting the body will make a Bile Spewer explode upon death, spreading acid in a large area.

The best way to deal with a Bile Spewer is from the front. Target the lower part of its face, right below the armored shell, so that the caustic Terminid does not blow up. This also requires a lot less damage compared to the main body, but you will need good accuracy.

Weapons

You can obviously call in an Orbital Precision Strike to decimate an entire area, but that would not be a cost-effective way to deal with the threat here. There are several primary weapons as well as support weapons that do enough damage to quickly dispatch a Bile Spewer in Helldivers 2. Pick one from the list below based on your in-game progression and unlocks.
