Recent reports have indicated that Xbox is going multi-platform, at least to some extent. These reports have suggested that basically all of Xbox's big first-party games and franchises could potentially be jumping ship to competing platforms like the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5, though nothing has been officially confirmed just yet, and others have cautioned that the scope may not be quite as big as it sounds. Xbox has not denied the rumors, but Head of Xbox Phil Spencer has stated that an event next week will address the future of Xbox. However, if these reports are accurate, it seems Hellblade 2 could very well be coming to PS5 at some point down the line.

Hellblade 2, Other Xbox Games Rumored for PS5

Assuming Xbox is going multi-platform with its first-party games, it remains to be seen exactly how this will play out. It's possible that the games will be released on Xbox first before coming to other platforms. That's seemingly how the Indiana Jones game from MachineGames will work, with reports indicating that it will launch on PC and Xbox in December 2024 before potentially making its way to PS5 in 2025.

Hellblade 2 coming to PS5 would make more sense than some of the other Xbox exclusives that are rumored to be in the works for Sony's console. After all, the first Hellblade game was a multi-plat release itself, so there are likely some PS5 gamers that played the original and would be interested in the sequel.

Regardless, the idea of Xbox going multi-platform has been hugely controversial, even though it has yet to be confirmed. Xbox fans who have purchased consoles have expressed their outrage on social media, as they feel like they no longer have a reason to own an Xbox. Xbox is clearly aware of the backlash, but it remains to be seen what exactly will happen with the brand and its games moving forward.
