The official Heavenly Delusion website announced an anime adaptation by Production I. G for 2023. Licensed by Kodansha, the manga has a total of 8 tankobon volumes published.The English version is licensed by Denpa and has 5 volumes published thus far. Heavenly Delusion is set in a dystopian post-apocalyptic world, 15 years after an unexpected disaster of apocalyptic levels. The series follows Maru and Kiruko as they explore what once was Tokyo, encountering all types of supernatural creatures as they try to unravel the mystery of the world surrounding them.RELATED: The Greatest Seinen Anime Of All TimeThe highly anticipated series has been compared to critically acclaimed anime like Attack on Titan and The Promised Neverland. Masakazu Ishiguro’s manga debuted back in 2018, and the series has gained considerable traction in the years since.Production I. G has announced that the anime is scheduled to premiere sometime in April. On top of that, they confirmed that Heavenly Delusion will come exclusively to Disney+ worldwide and Hulu in the US. The announcement also came with the reveal of the main cast for the series which includes Gen Sato (Chrome in Dr. Stone) as Maru, Sayaka Senbongi as Kiruko, Hibiku Yamamura as Tokio, Toshiyuki Toyonaga as Kona, Misato Fukuen as Mimihime, Shunsuke Takeuchi as Shiro, Tomoyo Kurosawa as Kuku, Misato Matsuoka as Anzu, and Yuki Shin as Taka.

Heavenly Delusion joins a packed line-up for April. There are plenty of amazing series scheduled for the Spring 2023 Season, including series like Demon Slayer and Dr. Stone. It also adds depth to the Disney anime catalog. The streaming platform already has popular titles like Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War and Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown.
