Exactly one year ago, the finale of Hawkeye premiered on Disney Plus, and it seems like Marvel Studios is ready to return to the series this holiday season. The studio has encouraged fans to re-watch the series by sharing new holiday-themed posters and fun behind-the-scenes videos on social media.

The Hawkeye plot revolved around the holiday season, with the final battle taking place in the ice rink at the Rockefeller Center, known for its iconic annual Christmas tree. Jeremy Renner's protagonist Clint Barton is constantly trying to go home for the holidays throughout the series, finally succeeding at the end. It seems like the studio wants fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to return to this holiday spirit by watching Hawkeye, considering they don’t have any winter releases this year.

The Hawkeye promotions this year began with an endearing video of Jolt, the golden retriever that plays Lucky the Pizza Dog in the series. The pup shares his “top three reasons” for watching Hawkeye, and they’re all him. “Catch Jolt as Lucky the Pizza Dog in Marvel Studios' Hawkeye,” reads the caption. Following the video, the studio shared a poster featuring Renner's Barton and Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop, with holiday decorations adorning the background. “Relive every epic moment of #Hawkeye this holiday season,” encouraged the studio. The promotion further continued with another cute video of Jolt and even a poster of him wearing a Santa hat.

When the posts first started to appear on social media, many fans wondered if this was Marvel Studios' way of hinting at Hawkeye season 2. At this point, the only Marvel Studios show on Disney Plus that is confirmed to have a second season is Loki. However, the Hawkeye plot could potentially be taken further in another season, with the first season hinting that Bishop will likely take on the mantle of Hawkeye moving forward. Fans loved her chemistry with Florence Pugh's Yelena, and they were hopeful that the studio might confirm a season two a year after the series premiered. However, that doesn’t seem to be the studio’s agenda, with the focus primarily on promoting the series with its single season.

Another holiday-themed Marvel Studios series that fans could potentially watch this season is The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, which recently premiered on Disney Plus. However, the studio seems to focus on Hawkeye, perhaps because it is an older series. Time will tell when fans will see Steinfeld's Kate Bishop in action again.
