  • A demo is available on Steam now, ahead of the June 2024 Steam Next Fest, letting players experience the horror-filled renovation simulation firsthand.

From Image Power and PlayWay, Haunted House Renovator is an upcoming renovation simulation game that adds a healthy dash of the supernatural into the mix by making the players paranormal hunters attempting to renovate a haunted house. These haunted houses will be full of ghosts, demons, and all manner of supernatural entities that aim to add a unique splash of horror to the house-flipping simulation formula.

First revealed in 2022, Haunted House Renovator puts gamers into the role of a "paranormal renovator." The player's job is to enter various haunted houses and flip them into inviting homes. Accomplishing this goal means contending with whatever supernatural monstrosity happens to be presiding over the building, as well as repairing any damage that was caused by the entity's being there.

The game was originally available to play through a Kickstarter preview demo, but the new demo launch via Steam promises more content and a smoother experience, as well as bug fixes being released throughout the Steam Next Fest period if the need arises. Haunted House Renovator Demo is Available Via Steam

Haunted House Renovator is currently a solo experience, and there is nothing to suggest that this will change throughout the game's development. This may seem surprising, given the game's similarities with titles such as Phasmophobia or Lethal Company, but if Image Power wants to lean hard into the horror and mystique of Haunted House Renovator, it may not be a bad idea. Nothing takes the fear or mystery out of a classic haunted house experience more than barreling down the corridors with friends, so isolating the player as they take on each house and everything that lies within it is a surefire way to up the stakes. Haunted House Renovator promises a full single-player campaign on launch, hinting at a wider story being available to gamers that wouldn't have the same effect if done with friends.

If this unique blend of Phasmophobia meets Viscera Clean-up Detail sounds intriguing, then gamers need look no further than the game's store page, or check out Haunted House Renovator during Steam Next Fest from June 10 to June 17. Haunted House Renovator currently has no planned release date, but fans looking to get in on the ghost-hunting action early have the perfect opportunity to do so.
