The Best Harry Potter Games Of All Time

Even though Harry Potter games tend to be extremely hit-or-miss, a few releases capture the magic of the books, movies, and the overall universe.

The game will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and both Steam and Epic Games for PC players. By pairing up details from the trailer, the Steam store page, and FAQs from the game's official website, it's possible to piece together a picture of what fans can expect from Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions.

6 The Standard Edition Will Be $29.99 With No Microtransactions

A Lack Of Microtransactions Is A Welcome Surprise In Today's Market

In the FAQs section of the game's website, it states that the SRP or suggested retail price for the standard edition of Quidditch Champions will be $29.99 USD. This seems like a fair price, especially when paired with the following statement: "There are no plans to include microtransactions in the game at this time."

In the modern world of gaming where microtransactions and battle passes reign supreme, this will likely come as a breath of fresh air to many players. Instead, players can expect to unlock content by playing the game. It gets even better for PlayStation Plus subscribers, as the standard edition will be available for free from day one.

5 Game Modes

Players Can Expect A Single Player & Co-op Career Mode, Exhibition Matches & PvP

There will be multiple ways to play Quidditch Champions, and most excitingly, players can look forward to a Career Mode which sees them rise from fledglings trying out their skills at the Weasley's Burrow to soaring stars representing their country at the Quidditch World Cup.

Career Mode and Exhibition Matches, where players choose teams and stadiums, are both available to play alone or with friends, although the game will require an internet connection regardless. Lastly, players will also be able to prove their Quidditch prowess to the rest of the world in PvP, and as the game was initially announced as a competitive multiplayer experience, there's hope for a ranked mode.

4 Play As Individual Positions For Unique Experiences

Instead Of Controlling The Entire Team, Play As A Chaser, Keeper, Beater, Or Seeker

In the 2003 game Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup, players control the entire team, but in Quidditch Champions, players will instead take control of just one role at a time. Playing as a Chaser, Keeper, Beater, or Seeker will offer completely different challenges and experiences, keeping the game fresh while adding more depth to specific elements of Quidditch.

These Harry Potter characters, despite playing a more prominent role in the books, simply disappeared in the films.

For those who aren't up to scratch on the rules and roles of Quidditch, there are three Chasers who tackle, pass, and score the Quaffle, one Keeper who defends the hoops, two Beaters who launch Bludgers at opponents to knock them off track, and a single Seeker who ends the game by catching the Golden Snitch.

3 Level Up Each Role & Different Brooms

Use Skill Points To Tailor Play Styles & Change The Way You Fly With Different Brooms

Just like real Quidditch athletes, players will be able to level up their skills and take on different play styles. This will be done via skill points and will be unique for each role. As there isn't a tonne of information in the Harry Potter books about Quidditch tactics, it will be interesting to see the creative direction that Unbroken Studios takes in this regard.

Furthermore, players will be able to switch up their flying style by changing and leveling up brooms. With brooms being merely cosmetic in Hogwarts Legacy, acquiring new brooms should feel much more rewarding in Quidditch Champions.

2 Character Skins, Teams, Arenas, & More

The Game Appears To Have Lots Of Customization & Flavor

From the trailer, screenshots, and tidbits of information, it's clear that Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions will have lots of customization. First of all, players are able to make their own characters if they prefer to play as themselves, but there will also be a whole host of iconic Harry Potter characters to play as. In fact, it looks like popular characters will have different skins and looks. For example, we see Harry and his friends in outfits from The Prisoner of Azkaban, but later, they can be seen in Quidditch robes from The Half-Blood Prince. Draco can also be seen in his regular school robes.

In addition to these character skins, multiple Quidditch teams can be seen throughout the trailer, including the four Hogwarts Houses, the national teams for Bulgaria and Ireland, and what appears to be school teams at Beauxbatons and Durmstrang. Different Quidditch pitches or stadiums are also seen, and the Steam page mentions maps of areas of the wizarding world that have not been depicted before. In addition to this, it appears there will be seasonal and weather variants for the Hogwarts Quidditch pitch, at least, with summer, snow, and rain all seen.

While many fans were disappointed with the absence of Quidditch from Hogwarts Legacy, owners of the game do have a surprise in store for them, as they will receive the Bonus Legacy Pack for free.

By owning a copy of the open-world RPG and linking their WB Games account, players will receive cosmetic content such as one of the brooms from Hogwarts Legacy, the Moontrimmer Broom. The other standout is a hero skin for one of the game's most interesting characters, Sebastian Sallow. They will also receive his wand and an Ancient Magic emblem and celebration.
