Fans of Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells now have a new winter-themed Christmas event to partake in, which includes some collaboration with platinum recording artist Zayn Malik.
Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells players can complete the new Christmas in the Wizarding World album, which will only be available in the popular mobile game while the event is live. Completing the Christmas in the Wizarding World album will unlock a unicorn that players can equip as their magical creature in the game. Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells will also notice new winter decorations in-game, including some things that will actually impact gameplay.
While some other games may be satisfied with their winter/Christmas events being little more than window dressing, Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells is making the season part of the gameplay. While the event is live, players may notice snowflakes land on their board, which can be collected to unlock some exclusive rewards. Wizard Crackers will also be falling onto the puzzles during the event, which will get rid of numerous gems and helps players progress further in the game.
As far as the Zayn Malik collaboration goes, Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells developer Zynga has worked with him to create new customization options for players' avatars. These new customization options were implemented so Zayn himself could have an avatar that more closely resembled his real world appearance. Zayn has shared an image of his new Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells avatar showing off some of the new customization options.
If that weren't enough, Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells has promised even more for fans later in the week. While details remain scarce, Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells players are encouraged to visit the game's social media pages on Christmas Eve for "more surprises and holiday cheer." What exactly this will entail remains to be seen, so those interested will just need to make their way to the appropriate social media pages come Christmas Eve.
The Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells Christmas event is the latest holiday-themed event confirmed by Zynga, which remains one of the world's largest mobile game developers. Last week, it was announced that a number of other Zynga mobile games will host similar Christmas events, so fans of the company's titles should be kept plenty busy as 2020 comes to a close.
