Jam City has quietly released yet another update for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, and this one seems to be laying the groundwork for the mobile game's future. After downloading the latest update, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery fans will be able to see that a brand new location has been added in the form of the Forbidden Forest, though it doesn't seem accessible as of yet.

The Forbidden Forest appears as one of the main areas players can travel to Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, located right underneath Hogsmeade on the list. It's possible that more story content has also been added that will allow players to travel to the Forbidden Forest, though we are unable to confirm that at the time of this writing.

Once players are able to travel to the Forbidden Forest, one has to imagine that they will discover a new free energy source, new characters to interact with, and more. It's likely that access to the Forbidden Forest will come by completing main quests, similarly to how players unlocked access to Hogsmeade and Lower Floor - East.

This new update for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery does more than just add the Forbidden Forest to the list of areas players can travel to in the game. In fact, it also addresses some of the mobile title's lingering issues, like the Firebolt plot hole that broke established Harry Potter canon. The new update changes the Firebolt question in the game to be about the Nimbus brand of brooms instead, so Hogwarts Mystery's timeline should be less contradictory now.

The update also changes the symbol for Transfiguration class, and adds two new friends players can make once they reach Year 4. These friends come in the form of Andre Egwu, a Ravenclaw student, and Charlie Weasley, a Gryffindor, and the older brother of Ron Weasley.

Overall, this new update for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery seems rather substantial, and it's possible that it allows players to properly start Year 4. Again, we are unable to confirm or deny that at the time of this writing, but we should learn more information as fans progress through the story.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
