Hogwarts Legacy introduced a new troublemaker for fans of Harry Potter to fall in love with, Sebastian Sallow, this time hailing from Slytherin. However, while Sebastian seems to have always had little respect for school rules in his thirst for knowledge, the events of Hogwarts Legacy see him push the limits of his morals in pursuit of a cure for his twin sister. Sebastian's desire to help his sister eventually pushes him down a dark path, resulting in some of the darkest trouble Hogwarts has ever seen.

In particular, Peeves has always been the bane of the current Caretaker at Hogwarts, amusing himself by creating more mess for them to clean up. He is also happy to alert Professors to misbehaving students, owing allegiance to none. However, after being told to give Umbridge hell by fellow troublemakers Fred and George Weasley upon their departure from Hogwarts, Peeves was in his element, unleashing a relentless campaign to bring down a character arguably worse than Voldemort.

3 The Golden Trio - Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, & Hermione Granger

Nearly 7 Years Of Constant Trouble & Adventure

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Golden Trio
  • Attended Hogwarts between 1991-1997

Harry, Ron, and Hermione might be best described as trouble-finders rather than troublemakers, and Ron's response to Professor McGonagall's question "Why is it always you three?" is one of the funniest Harry Potter quotes, replying to her with "Believe me, Professor, I've been asking myself the same question for 6 years."

Nevertheless, while the golden trio were certainly subject to their fair share of mishaps, they also sought out trouble on their own, constantly flouting school rules and looking for bizarre and dangerous solutions to their problems. For example, in The Chamber of Secrets, the three of them concocted a plan to brew Polyjuice Potion and sneak into the Slytherin Common Room, simply to find out if Draco was opening the chamber.

2 Fred & George Weasley

Left With A Literal Bang

  • Attended Hogwarts between 1989-1996

Fred and George Weasley were the quintessential Hogwarts troublemakers and not just class clowns, but school clowns. Often accompanied by their friend Lee Jordan, the Weasley twins always had a scheme or prank up their sleeves, and despite causing many headaches over the years for staff and students, they still managed to enjoy immense popularity as two of the most charismatic Harry Potter characters.

In the Harry Potter books, these wizards didn't quite get the credit they rightfully deserve.

Fred and George's finest moments came during their penultimate year at Hogwarts when the school needed their humor and brazenness most in the pushback against Dolores Umbridge's tyranny. After a year of testing and selling their Skiving Snackboxes, and making things generally difficult for Umbridge, the twins left with a bang by setting off fantastic magical fireworks, which also doubled as an advertisement for their new prank shop. In the books, Fred and George also left behind a huge Portable Swamp in a corridor, which Professor Flitwick proudly preserved a tiny bit of. The Weasley twins are also known for their witty one-liners.

1 The Marauders - James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, & Peter Pettigrew

Became Animagi In Secret & Made the Marauders Map

Harry Potter The Marauders
  • Attended Hogwarts between 1971-1978

Led by Sirius Black and Harry's dad, James Potter, the Marauders were a group of four Gryffindor boys who are perhaps the greatest troublemakers in Hogwarts' history. Their most impressive feat, and by far the most dangerous and outright illegal thing they ever did, was to spend three excruciating years learning to become Animagi so that they could accompany Remus Lupin each month when he transformed into a werewolf.

Beyond roaming the Hogwarts grounds and the Forbidden Forest as an odd assortment of four animals, and countless more adventures inside the castle, the Marauders are arguably most well-known for creating the Marauder's Map. This map not only shows all the secret entrances of Hogwarts, but it also shows the exact current location of every being in the castle. Therefore, the Marauders not only made it easier for themselves to go about their mischief-making, but they also helped future troublemakers such as the Weasley twins and Harry himself.
