The Halo Series is less than a month away from premiering on Paramount Plus, so that means it’s time for the show to ramp up its promotional efforts, as is the case with the new official character posters that have just been released.

Since making its video game debut and expanding its lore to book format in the early 2000s, the Halo franchise has been a coveted intellectual property for an eventual movie or TV adaptation, including a canceled Halo movie. Although the first few trailers may have received some mixed reactions from fans, especially due to design changes in some characters, now anyone can give the cast a more thorough look in their individual artwork.

Nevertheless, there aren’t many recognizable faces here, as one of the known aspects about Halo series is that it will be expanding the main cast with a few new characters. Among them is Soren-066 and Kwan Ha Boo, played by Bokeem Woodbrine and Yerin Ha, respectively. One person who will be all too familiar for Halo fans is Dr. Catherine Halsey, the creator of the Spartan-II and mother-like figure for the now non-camera shy Master Chief.

While it’s safe to say these three characters look the part and blend in with the general aesthetic chosen for Paramount Plus' Halo, they will remind many of the fact that the show’s starting cast is missing people like Sergeant Avery Johnson. Also notably absent is Cortana, whose design differs from every Halo game out there now that she’s abandoned her blue complexion in favor of a more humanized appearance. Regardless of Dr. Halsey needing no introduction, that is not the case for the other two.

Soren-066 comes from the Pariah short story, where he’s portrayed as a voluntary candidate for the Spartan-II program who also sees Halsey as a mother of sorts, even though he eventually changes his mind. On the other hand, Kwan is an entirely new addition, said to be more of an amalgamation of different characters from the franchise lore all mixed into one.

The rest of the Halo cast is rounded off by Miranda Keyes (Olive Gray) and Captain Keyes (Danny Sapani), as well as several new other Spartans. As the series edges closer to its debut, it is yet to be seen if it has any effect in boosting Halo Infinite's credentials within Twitch and the gaming community as a whole.

Halo the TV series is set to premiere on Paramount Plus on March 24, 2022.
