Ever since Halo: The Master Chief Collection's launch, 343 Industries has been hard at work with updating the game, including adding mod support. Now, mod support is being expanded to include several new mod tools players on PC will be able to use.

343 Industries brought mod support to Halo: The Master Chief Collection earlier this year, and has since then been showing off new content for Season 7. A post on the official Halo: The Master Chief Collection update thread on Halo Waypoint outlines changes that will come in Season 7.

The Halo Waypoint post warns players that mid-mission save data and Theater films will be invalidated with the update, before proceeding to drop important news for Steam players: additional modding tools are coming to Halo: The Master Chief Collection. 343 Industries plans to release a guide next week explaining what the tools are and the purposes of them. Fans have already been modding the Halo games for a long time with strange creations like a warthog limousine in Halo: Combat Evolved, so more tools to help modders make their ideas a reality will be appreciated. Players looking to jump into online modes before Season 7 also have good news in this post, as the North Central American server is back online after some downtime.

343 Industries has updated Halo: The Master Chief Collection since launch bringing the game new maps, new cosmetics and console-to-PC ports of Halo titles. Player feedback has pushed 343 Industries to add many new armors for Covenant Elites in Season 7, which was announced months ago, but the new modding tools are a more recent announcement. Even with the little information available at the moment, the tools are sure to be helpful for players creating modifications for Halo: The Master Chief Collection as well as appreciated by players looking for new ways to experience the collection.

With Halo: The Master Chief Collection surpassing 10 million players on PC, 343 Industries is listening closely to player feedback to keep the playerbase interested. Mods are a long-standing example of how players can be so engaged with games as to create new experiences within their favorite games, and 343 Industries helping modders have an easier time creating mods is sure to go over well with the playerbase.

Many Halo fans will not care for the mod changes, but will certainly appreciate the other new Season 7 content. Fans of the series looking to experience it in as close to the original form as possible already appreciate 343 Industries' efforts to improve Halo: Combat Evolved's graphics and remove long-standing visual issues, so the studio's work is not going unnoticed and fans looking forward to Halo Infinite are sure to enjoy more Halo: The Master Chief Collection content during the wait.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is available now on PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
