343 Industries released its 29th content update for Halo Infinite with a brand-new map, the limited-time Operation: Spirit of Fire event, and much more. The Halo Infinite developers detailed the new update and shared insight into what's arriving in the game within the next three months as well.

Leading up to the January 30 update, 343 Industries confirmed that Halo Infinite will no longer run traditional seasons. Instead, the development team will deliver content in "Content Updates" and "Operations," which are major in-game events that last roughly 4–6 weeks at a time. Content Updates, or CUs for short, will contain new maps, gear, and other content that Halo fans typically expect with the seasonal model. 343 Industries also abandoned the controversial paid battle pass system for Halo Infinite, with each content update featuring 20 free tiers of unlockable rewards instead of 100 paid tiers.
