Among the three maps introduced into Halo Infinite with the Season 3 Update, Oasis is the largest, suitable for Big Team matches of up to 24 players. Oasis brings a breath of fresh air to the list of large capacity maps. An oasis in a selection perhaps otherwise drying up to regular Big Team players. It’s a well-designed map both aesthetically and in terms of gameplay.

It’s not easy to stay alive and make a big impact within a team of twelve on a large map. As with any map, however, there are usually strategies to survive longer or help achieve a team’s goals more effectively. Oasis is no different. Ultimately it comes down to being familiar with the locations of weapons, items, objectives, and vantage points.

7 Control The Wasp

One of the most immediately noticeable elements of Oasis is its one Wasp. The Wasp is located at the center of the map, on a platform overhanging the cliff next to the Oasis. Unlike the Wasps found on Highpower after a certain period, this Wasp is available from the start. It brings about an immediate power struggle between the two teams, over the Wasp and then over the game once it’s been commandeered.

Wasps are powerful assets to have on a team, and most players will recognize that. If a Wasp is used well and the opposing team fails to destroy it, it can simply dominate the match. Make for the Wasp as quickly as possible to prevent the other team from acquiring it.

How To Get The Wasp Quickly And (Relatively) Safely

To get to the Wasp quickly, players may use available vehicles at their base or the man canons/conveyor lifts. However, it’s safer to head around the outside of the Oasis toward the cliff edge. Either ascending the ramp which drops down onto the Wasp pad area or taking the discreet paths on either side of it, built right into the cliff edge.

Players making a break through the center of the Oasis and along the channel leading to the Wasp will be obvious and poorly protected targets. And they had better watch out for the fatal gap preceding the Wasp.

6 Using Plasma Coils In Closed Areas

The Cave and Facility areas on Oasis house quite a few Plasma Coils. There are also some dotted around either base. Plasma Coils aren’t the most useful items over great distances, as Spartans are unable to sprint or maneuver quickly while holding them. Not to mention enemies will see hurled Plasma Coils coming from a mile away.

In closer quarters, however, they can be useful to get the drop on opponents rounding a corner with a one-shot kill. Whether holding the Cave or Facility areas or just passing through, picking up a Plasma Coil can give players the edge in a pinch. Especially players armed with basic weapons or low on ammo.

5 Finding Anti-Vehicle Armaments

To avoid a difficult confrontation with a Wasp or Ghost, both available from the outset, it’s a good idea to be armed with weapons or items that can turn the tables. Oasis, like any map, has plenty of opportunities to pick up anti-vehicle equipment, even before any weapon ordnance drops.

Grappleshot utilities are on the upper story at either base. There will be Shock Rifles or Stalker Rifles at either base, such as in the back building of the Wall Base or upper story of Tower Base, beside the grapple jack. If there are Hydra weapon spawns, they will be at the South Point location, a small cliff-side building ahead of Tower Base, or in the small silo building for Wall Base. There are also plenty of grenade spawn points strewn across the map. Dynamo Grenades are often best for dealing with vehicles, including wasps, which are otherwise hard to hit with a Spike or Plasma Grenades.

4 Sniper Locations

A long-ranged power weapon, such as the Sniper Rifle or Skewer, will spawn beside each base. Either weapon will wreck a Wasp or Ghost and remove another team’s vehicle advantage. At Wall Base, this spawn point is between the tall rock formations on the cliff side of the base.

Tower Base’s long-ranged power weapon spawns at the South Point location. Be careful when sniping from the sloped rock formations between Tower Base and the Oasis. These provide good vantage points, but players can be caught off guard by Ghosts boosting easily up the slopes to take them out.

3 Power Item Locations

A Gravity Hammer or Energy Sword is located at the front of the Facility on the upper level, in the window. The gravity lift from the center of the map takes players directly to it. An Active Camo or Overshield can be found in the center of the oasis, between the gravity lift and the Wasp.

At the back of the Cave there is a Cave Lift area, on the lift players can find an Overshield or Active Camo utility, and right by it, in a tunnel leading from the lift through to the Facility, is a power weapon (M41 SPNKr/Cindershot). Lastly, there is one more Power Equipment Item on the raised section in the main Facility area.

1 Stockpile Power Seed Locations

In the Stockpile game mode, the Power Seeds players need to collect in order to score spawn together in various neutral areas of the map. It’s useful to know where they spawn so that players can head toward where they think the next spawn point will be.

On the Oasis map, the power seeds will spawn in the center, at the Oasis, in the main room of the Facility area, or the on the Cave Lift, before cycling back through.
