It's been a while since 343 Industries has given fans a big update on Halo: Infinite and with the July event still over a month away, most fans are desperate for any sort of news. In fact, this has worked against the community as a recent leak detailing new features and gameplay elements was widely accepted as truth until the person who posted the information admitted that it was all made up. Even though most of the details are being withheld for the July showcase, fans have learned a little bit more about the upcoming shooter.

The latest unverified information comes from the Resetera forums where users have been speculating what sort of specs Halo: Infinite would feature out of the box. While many agree that the game will run native 4K at 60 frames per second, HDTVtest's EvilBoris went a step further by not only confirming High-dynamic Range but that 343 Industries is doing something special with it.

Unfortunately, no other details were provided on what exactly that means for HDR capable TVs and monitors but considering the game is going to be heavily featured next month at the Xbox 20/20 event, fans won't have to wait too much longer to find out if this indeed true. So far, the game continues to be on track for an end of the year launch alongside the Xbox Series X console, but things continue to evolve as the studio shifted to working remotely following the spread of the COVID-19 global pandemic.

Surprisingly, 343 Industries have managed to keep the game shrouded in mystery after its initial reveal back at E3 2018. So far, fans have really only seen CG cinematics and a handful of minor details, which has managed to likely keep the community hyped for what the game could be. A few of these have come through third party sources such as Mega Construx and Funko, but at this point, fans will take what they can get.

The big question on most player's minds these days is whether or not an online multiplayer beta will become available prior to the game's official launch. This has been a key component for 343 Industries in the past with both Halo 4, Halo 5, and even The Master Chief Collection. By that metric alone, it's highly likely that Halo: Infinite would follow suit. Considering how much time and money has been put into the game, it's likely that both 343 and Microsoft would want to make sure the game is as good as it can be on day 1.

Halo Infinite is scheduled to launch this holiday season for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
