While the shotgun and gravity hammer have been part of the Halo arsenal of weapons since the first and second games respectively, they've never been paired in such a unique way as the Halo Infinite rumors are suggesting.A known Halo Infinite leaker has garnered over 35,000 views on a tweet suggesting that the aforementioned double-barreled shotgun is already confirmed for a future update. As Halo Infinite developers work on the next content drop, Season 3: Echoes Within, many players continue to explore what was introduced to the FPS with Season 2: Lone Wolves. Though a highly anticipated Winter update brought the Forge level editor to Halo Infinite alongside online campaign co-op, Lone Wolves continues today, and it dropped with Last Spartan Standing and the classic King of the Hill game modes.Twitter user Mr_Rebs is known for leaking Halo Infinite data ahead of time, and they have promised the addition of what's being called the Banished double-barreled shotgun. The leaker shared an image of the aforementioned shotgun, and it shows a tiny gravity hammer attached at the bottom of a barrel, loosely matching some concept art for the game. While it's expected to be added to the Halo Infinite multiplayer rotation according to leaks, it would be interesting to also see the Banished enemies in the campaign outfitted with this powerful weapon when it drops as well.
Halo Infinite Season 3: Echoes Within begins on March 7 and is expected to continue until June 27, and the double-barreled shotgun with the gravity hammer attachment may be part of the next major content drop. Although it hasn't been officially confirmed by 343 Industries, a weapon has been teased for the Season 3 offerings and this teased weapon could be the one that was leaked ahead of time. Some details have leaked about Halo Infinite Season 3 before Mr_Rebs' details, with two new maps shown off, the return of the Infection game mode teased, and ray tracing hinted at.
Though it's currently unclear if it will be part of Halo Infinite Season 3 or another mid-season content drop like the Winter update, Mr_Rebs practically guarantees the arrival of the Banished shotgun in their tweet. Because the existing Halo Infinite gravity hammer and shotgun are both notably powerful weapons, it stands to reason that the Banished double-barreled shotgun paired with its gravity hammer attachment will release as a top-tier gun.
