Halo Infinite developer 343 Industries has just dropped a new trailer teasing the return of the popular Samurai-themed Tenrai event. Operation Tenrai 4: A Warrior Blooms in Peace will bring new challenges and cosmetics to Halo Infinite when it launches on June 4.

Earlier this year, Halo Infinite restructured the model in which it released new content, distinguishing itself from the typical live service model. At release, many fans complained over the small variety of maps and game modes, a problem exacerbated further by long battle pass seasons, which resulted in updates being few and far between. In January, 343 Industries replaced these typical seasons in favor of shorter Operations, themed events that feature a free 20-tier battle pass. Players who do not finish an Operation before it ends may purchase the pass to unlock it forever. Expired passes remain available indefinitely, meaning that no one has to miss out on limited-time cosmetics.

In a short teaser trailer, 343 Industries announced the latest Operation coming to Halo Infinite. Operation Tenrai 4: A Warrior Blooms in Peace will launch on June 4, bringing a new 20-tier battle pass, a new map, and most likely a new game mode. Fracture: Tenrai was Halo Infinite’s first free event in 2021, featuring a samurai-inspired YOROI armor core and introducing the Fiesta game variant. The armor's sleek aesthetic proved a hit among Halo fans, and Tenrai events have returned in various forms over the years.

What Have Operations Brought to Halo Infinite?

Halo Infinite's themed Operations also introduce new story and lore elements. Available as PDFs on Halo Waypoint or audiobooks on YouTube, these Waypoint Chronicles contextualize the updates within the Halo universe and provide a unique narrative to the game’s multiplayer. The current event, Operation Banished Honor, introduced Banished Spartans for the first time in a Halo game, potentially establishing a powerful foe for Master Chief to face in a future title.

From Infection to Firefight, Halo Infinite now offers gamers more ways to play than ever before. Each update has brought more maps and modes, and Halo Infinite now feels like the game many fans were hoping for at launch. The latest update also introduced the imaginative Survive the Undead game mode, an impressive Forge creation inspired by Call of Duty: World at War’s classic Nacht der Untoten map. Halo Infinite’s remarkable creation tool has helped to rejuvenate the game's multiplayer, and it's likely that Operation Tenrai 4 will introduce more of the community’s incredible creations.
