Halo Infinite has released its new Operation Anvil update, which includes a new 20-tier Operation Pass and a new way to enjoy the game's popular Big Team Battle mode. The update went live on July 2, 2024, offering Halo Infinite fans some new content to enjoy this summer.

Halo Infinite launched in 2021 and ushered in a new era for Master Chief and Microsoft's legendary Halo franchise. The game drops players into a rich open world, something largely new for the Halo series, and pits Master Chief against some of his toughest opponents yet: The Banished. Alongside its innovative campaign, Halo Infinite also shipped with a robust multiplayer mode, offered free to all players. Over the last several years, developer 343 Industries has worked to provide players with satisfying updates and new content, with the studio recently rolling out its new Operation Anvil update.

Operation Anvil will be underway from July 2 until July 30, allowing players to earn new Sangheili-themed ASSAILER armor, as well as a new emblem. Halo Infinite Releases Operation Anvil Update

  • 500 credits will make the Operation Pass durable (it will not expire), offers bonus XP during the Operation’s live window. Also includes an extra Challenge slot and an exclusive customization item.
  • 2,000 credits unlocks all 20 tiers of the Operation Pass
  • Purchasing either of the above includes the new Smash and Grab weapon model for the M41 SPNKr and the Rent Seeker weapon coating.

The other big change in this update is a new mode in Halo Infinite's Big Team Battle. Sentry Defense sees Adjutant Resolution, one of Zeta Halo’s Submonitors featured in Halo Infinite’s campaign, make its way into multiplayer. Players will join one of two teams, with the objective being to defeat the other team's sentry while defending their own. Both teams start with 2,000 points. As damage is dealt to the sentries, the points drop, with the match ending once a team reaches zero. Big Team Battle: Sentry Defense will be playable on the following maps:

  • Fragmentation
  • Highpower
  • Deadlock
  • Oasis
  • Scarr
  • Command

This update follows several major tweaks to the game's formula. Earlier this year, 343 Industries stopped seasonal content updates for Halo Infinite in lieu of smaller releases, such as the game's new Operation Anvil. Other additions in Halo Infinite's new July update include a community-created Big Team Battle map called "Command," as well as several free items that celebrate Disability Pride Month and Juneteenth. Players simply need to log in to Halo Infinite to unlock a new armor coating, visor, and emblem.
