News regarding Halo Infinite, Xbox's major launch title for the Xbox Series X, is certain to arrive soon. Rumors indicate that May event could see the Xbox team sharing more information about upcoming Xbox Series X games and hopefully Halo Infinite, too. Until then, however, Halo fans are relying on leaks for morsels of information. Luckily, another seems to have just been discovered that reveals the return of a classic Halo enemy and introduces what could be a brand new weapon.

The leak comes via a now-deleted post on Twitter that featured photos of two unannounced Halo Infinite toys. The surprise is that one of the two toys is a Brute, an enemy faction associated with the Covenant first introduced in Halo 2. The Brutes have been absent from both Halo 4 and Halo 5 due to the narrative moving in a different direction.

As for why the Brutes will be returning in Halo Infinite, it's anyone's guess. The two toys are for the Brute Warrior and a Spartan Gungnir. The Brute Warrior is wearing armor that looks a lot like a member of the Banished faction from Halo Wars 2, specifically. The Banished are a splinter faction of Brutes that rebelled against the Covenant. The Banished battled against the USNC throughout Halo Wars 2 and the story is left without a conclusion.  The Banished could definitely be coming back.

Another notable detail from the toy is the Brute Warrior's weapon. It's unlike anything previously seen in a Halo game, meaning it's likely something made for Halo Infinite. It could be a Brute rifle of sorts. The Spartan Gungnir is always holding a new weapon that looks like a sort of heavy pistol.

The Spartan Gungnir toy doesn't provide any additional insight. At first glance, it may even look like a Brute, since its body is of a similar size to the Brute Warrior toy. That's likely just due to the shape of the toys, however. Mega Construx's toys are great, but are not premium ultra-detailed action figures.

Xbox clearly has big plans in store for Halo Infinite. There now seems to be a connection to Halo Wars 2, which shows just how broad the scope of the game's story will be. That there are new weapons won't come as a surprise, of course. Halo Infinite will likely be the biggest multiplayer experience in a Halo game yet. Seeing these leaked details is fun for now, though, at least until Xbox is ready to reveal more official Halo Infinite information.
