As the release of Halo Infinite approaches, Xbox has revealed a limited-time Xbox Series X. Based on the design of Zeta Halo, this console celebrates the release of the next installment in the Halo franchise. In addition, a new Elite Series 2 controller based on the Master Chief's MJOLNIR armor was unveiled. Unfortunately, many fans have had a difficult time finding these limited-edition consoles and controllers due to a lack of supply. As a result, one fan decided to create their own custom Halo-themed design.
In a post on Reddit, a user known as Przym_ shared a group of pictures of their Xbox Series X. As a fan of the Halo series, the creator decided to celebrate the upcoming launch of Halo Infinite by painting a custom design on his console. The system's unique art features the Master Chief standing on the edge of an exit ramp of a shuttle overlooking the vastness of space.
One of the highlights of the design was the artist's decision to have the Spartan hold the iconic Battle Rifle from the Halo franchise. Another aspect of the art was that the image encompassed multiple sides of the console. Furthermore, the creator used various purple and blue hues to make a stunning nebula in the background.
Along with showing off this impressive custom design, Przym_ gave fans a look at the nearly 50-hour process that went into painting the new look for the console. According to the creator, they used an airbrush to make the many layers used in the image. The first few coats were in black and white, and they then added color later “to give it a bit of life.” In addition, the galaxy background was created with layers of tinted inks. Furthermore, the artist hinted that they might attempt to paint a custom design for a controller to go along with the look of the Xbox Series X.
This custom Xbox Series X design by Przym_ has impressed many in the Xbox community on Reddit. With over 1,700 upvotes in only a couple of hours, the consensus among fans was that the design nailed the look of Master Chief. Some even believed that it looked better than the limited-edition Halo Infinite console. In addition, some thought that Microsoft should hire the artist, to which Przym_ responded, “Haha that would be amazing if that happened!”
It’s always fun to see fans create custom designs for consoles based on their favorite games. With this stunning Halo Infinite design complete for their Xbox Series X, it will be interesting to see if Przym_ chooses to make custom artwork for any of their other video game consoles in the future.
