Big Team Battle in Halo Infinite has not consistently worked since December, and players are desperate to get back into the fight. Hopefully their wait is almost over though as 343 Industries has announced the latest BTB update will be dropping in Halo Infinite later today. The state of Halo Infinite multiplayer has been a roller coaster ride over the past few months, there being many high moments, and plenty of lows. One of the game's ongoing problems has been the state of Big Team Battle, Halo's iconic full-scale 12v12 mode, with players having been unable to properly queue into the game for some time. To the dismay of both players and 343 Industries, Halo Infinite's last BTB update just a few weeks back failed to address the bugs preventing players from finding games. 343 Industries announced last week that the BTB fix was coming soon as well promises to improve the value of the Item Shop.RELATED: Halo Infinite Promises Better Individual Items and BundlesHalo Infinite players should expect the next BTB update to drop later today, February 3, 2022 at 10AM PST, 1PM EST. Senior Community Manager at 343 Industries John Junyszek broke the news on Twitter, writing yesterday, "Meeting just wrapped: Update for BTB is ready for launch tomorrow, targeting 10am PT." No information is given regarding the type of update this is or what it is specifically targeting, though the intention of simply fixing BTB will be enough for many. If it is like previous Halo Infinite multiplayer hotfixes, then it will be passively added to the game, meaning online players will have to restart their game, and those coming on later shouldn't have any problems.

Considering how the last Halo Infinite BTB update was unsuccessful, there is an air of uncertainty and anxiety surrounding this upcoming hotfix from both players and developers. In response to a fan's tweet expressing how badly they hope the update works, Junyszek writes, "If I still had fingers, they'd be crossed," referencing Cortana's iconic Halo: Combat Evolved quote. Jerry Hook, Head of Design at 343 Industries, quote tweeted Junyszek's original post with a simple praying emoji.

In light of other recent announcements, today's update will be crucial for Halo Infinite's immediate future. Fans were disappointed when 343 Industries delayed further information on co-op and Forge, indicating the studio needed more time before it could properly share what its plans. 343 Industries has been working on improving other areas of the game like the Item Shop and available game modes, but players have also been given reasons to be skeptical about the game's future.

Halo Infinite is available on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
