Halo Infinite has been released for the PC as well as Xbox systems, allowing modders to get to work at tweaking, improving, and customizing the Halo experience. The game has been out for only two months at the time of writing, but modders have already left their mark on the game. All discussed mods can be found on Nexus.

6 Halo 3 Loading Screen Replaces The Halo Infinite Startup Animation

A common criticism among the PC gaming and the modding community is that the intro cinematic to Halo Infinite drags on for too long. The vast majority of mods for the game on Nexus at the moment address this complaint. Some mods are better than others, and this is one of the cooler replacements for the lengthy Infinite boot-up animation.

The Halo 3 Loading Screen mod by user Generalkidd replaces the Halo Infinite startup screen with the classic Halo 3 opening animation. This classic animation follows a hologram model of a Halo ring as it manifests against a black backdrop. It was a very memorable loading screen, which isn't a common thing to say about loading screens in general. That makes it worthwhile to bring back.

5 Halo Reach Dance Party Intro Opens The Game With A Bang

On the other end of things, there is the Halo Reach Dance Party Intro by user Mohawkma Gandhi. It replaces the intro animation with a dance party starring Noble Team and a slew of Elites from Halo Reach. Why watch a boring loading animation when you can watch some Spartans and Elites bust a move on the dance floor.

The dance party animation actually comes from this video by YouTuber Allen Scott. The song is called Dancin' by Aaron Smith, specifically the KRONO Remix. For fans in the mood for a little humor amidst all the sci-fi mayhem, this mod should do the trick.

4 Campaign Intro Video - Upscaled 4K 60fps Improves The First Campaign Cinematic

Moving past the opening loading screen to the campaign itself, there is the Campaign Intro Video Upscaled 4K 60fps mod by user James Gorman. This one actually comes from praise of the game as opposed to impatience with it. In the description for the mod, James praised the opening cinematic for the campaign but was surprised that it was restricted in its graphical quality.

To fix this, James upscaled the cinematic to 4K quality at 60 frames per second. It's a simple touch-up, but it's one that shows the love and passion for games that many modders have.

3 Reach Realism ReShade Makes For A Grittier Experience

Reach Realism Reshade mod for Halo Infinite Cropped

Reshades of the game is another common type of mod that can do wonders for the graphics. There aren't many complete overhauls or new elements this early in the games' life, but there are people who have implemented graphical and aesthetic overhauls to the game. The first one is the Reach Realism Reshade by user Brent Bagley.

This mod aims to mute and darken the visuals of Halo Infinite so that it better aesthetically matches its predecessor, Halo Reach. The latter is considered one of, if not the best, game in the Halo franchise. This mod aims to make Halo Infinite darker, grittier, and more somber. That is the narrative tone of Halo overall, so it makes sense for the visuals to match.

2 Halo Infinite Cinematic ReShade Aims For Movie Quality

The next reshade is the Halo Infinite Cinematic Reshade by user ProDudeFilms. This one embraces the brightness and color of Halo Infinite as it is and tries to strengthen those qualities. With this mod, the colors pop, the light shines, and the game overall looks like a particularly colorful modern Hollywood film.

This mod goes in the opposite direction of the Reach Realism Reshade, showing how different players can embrace and celebrate different qualities in a video game. One modder wanted the game muted and gritty, and the other wanted it bright and colorful.

1 PureClarity_ReShade Touches Up The Graphics And Mutes Yellows

Halo Infinite is the Biggest Launch in Franchise History

This mod splits the difference between muting and brightening the colors of Halo Infinite. The PureClarity_Reshade by user Subject195 aims to remove the overwhelming yellows and make the plant life look more natural overall.

Like the Reach Realism Reshade, this one does mostly darken the visuals to a degree, but this reshade is more concerned with the performance overall. The bright colors can tax a PC, and this particular reshade helps ensure that Halo Infinite doesn't start to chug or crash.

Halo Infinite is out now and available to play on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
