Highlights

  • Halo Infinite's new Operation event, Combined Arms, is now live, offering a streamlined approach to unlocking new stages and cosmetics with a 20-tier Battle Pass.

Halo Infinite’s Combined Arms Operation event is now live, adding a handful of classic Halo 3 maps among other enticing bonuses. While the latest installment in Microsoft’s monumentally influential sci-fi FPS franchise was initially hailed as a refreshing return to form when it launched in late 2021, Halo Infinite’s live-service model eventually grew divisive. Developer 343 Industries has been looking to turn this around with Halo Infinite’s fifth Season, subtitled Reckoning, which has been adding interesting new features and items since it began last month.

The new wave of Halo Infinite content isn’t stopping anytime soon, as a new Operation titled “Combined Arms” is now live. This is the first of Halo Infinite’s new Operation events, adding a new 20-tier Battle Pass filled with new stages and cosmetics for players to unlock in a more streamlined approach than previous Halo Infinite seasons. One of the most noteworthy (and controversial) of these new bonuses is Master Chief’s Mark V armor from the original Halo: Combat Evolved, but the Combined Arms pass draws more of its nostalgic unlockables from 2007’s Halo 3.

The Halo Infinite Combined Arms Operation is now live, and will run from November 14 to December 19. This new Battle Pass includes seven maps from Halo 3 recreated using Halo Infinite’s returning Forge Mode as part of its Halo 3 Refueled content. Players will be able to fight their way across the Banished Narrows (an updated version of Halo 3’s classic Narrows stage), challenge the Banished’s deadliest anti-air defense systems in Cliffside (based on Halo 3’s Blackout map), scale the heights of Domicile (a remix of Construct), take control of the High Ground, battle through Isolation, wage war in Sylvanus (aka Guardian), and brave The Pit.

Halo 3 Refueled Map List

  • Banished Narrows (Narrows)
  • Cliffside (Blackout)
  • Critical Dewpoint
  • Domicile (Construct)
  • High Ground
  • Isolation
  • Sylvanus (Guardian)
  • The Pit

There is also Critical Dewpoint, which is inspired by the Halo 3-themed Mountain Dew Citrus Cherry flavor that recently returned to stores for a limited time. The new Halo 3-inspired maps aren’t the only incentive for players to work their way through Halo Infinite’s Combined Arms Operation pass, as 343 has reportedly been listening to player feedback to ensure that everyone gets a chance to enjoy the new Operation content. Acquiring 500 credits will unlock a bonus item that grants bonus XP and an additional Challenge slot during the Operation’s live window, while 2000 credits unlock all 20 tiers of the Operation Pass at purchase.

The future of Halo Infinite is unclear at this time, with rumors suggesting that 343 Industries is already working on a brand-new Halo single-player campaign despite recent layoffs at Microsoft and reports that 343 has scrapped its previous plans for post-launch Infinite story DLC. In the meantime, nostalgic fans can now blast their way through several classic Halo 3 maps as part of the newly released Halo Infinite Combined Arms Operation event, which runs from now until December 19.
