A Tesla Cybertruck sporting a unique Halo-themed design has been spotted in public in the US. Featuring Halo’s iconic matte green color scheme and adorned with the insignia of the United Nations Space Command, the Cybertruck’s original decals finally make a long-running meme into reality.

First introduced in 2019, Tesla’s Cybertruck was designed as a futuristic electric alternative to challenge the hegemony of traditional gas-guzzling pickups. However, gamers quickly pointed out that the Cybertruck’s angular lines and blocky construction resembled those found in low-resolution video games. Memes comparing the Cybertruck to games from the early 2000s circulated on social media almost immediately. One recurring comparison capitalized on the truck’s remarkable resemblance to the Halo franchise’s iconic Warthog transport vehicle despite missing the mounted machine gun turret typically seen in the games.

New Halo Infinite Mode Has Serious Call of Duty Zombies Vibes

Halo Infinite adds a new, fan-made gametype to its official matchmaking that is heavily inspired by Call of Duty's classic Zombies mode.

The memes attracted such attention that Elon Musk and Xbox even teased a potential but unfortunately fruitless collaboration between Halo and Cybertruck. One Halo fan has finally made this dream a reality and transformed the Cybertruck’s stainless steel shell into a vehicle plucked straight from the Halo universe. Redditor r/DevinOlsen snapped the Halo-themed Cybertruck innocently parked up as if the Master Chief himself would step out any second. Featuring a stunning vinyl wrap from California-based SSCustoms, the Cybertruck resembles a Razorback troop transport, a turretless Warthog variant introduced in Halo Infinite. Cybertruck owners wishing to replicate the impressive look can purchase their own UNSC wrap for $2,700 from SSCustom’s website.

Custom Halo-Themed Cybertruck Spotted in the Wild

Despite near-universal praise from the r/halo community, the Cybertruck’s owner has plans to further customize their creation. After images of their vehicle circulated on a cybertruckowners.com forum, user “Gail_Lewis_844” claimed ownership of the pickup. Responding to a post cheekily pointing out that the truck is missing the Warthog’s usual mounted .50 caliber machine gun, the owner states they “really want to add a turret” and is planning to use a 3D printer to modify the barrel of a Nerf turret and create a custom mount and shielding. While they might be the first to convert a Tesla Cybertruck into a Halo Razorback, other Halo fans have previously built a custom road-legal Warthog using parts taken from Chevy pickup trucks.

These impressive creations are not the only UNSC vehicles in the real world. Various props and replicas have been made for Halo TV shows, and a Halo Infinite Warthog even joined Ryan Reynolds on the red carpet at the Free Guy world premiere. Since its debut in Halo: Combat Evolved 23 years ago, the Warthog has become not just one of the most enduringly popular vehicles in the Halo franchise but one of the most instantly recognizable in gaming.
