Marvel Studios' Hawkeye introduced the archery prodigy Kate Bishop, played by Hailee Steinfield, who stole the show with her humorous personality. Now the character is officially receiving a Hot Toys action figure and will be joining the rest of her superhero colleagues as one of the many collectable items.
Hawkeye picks up right after the events of Avengers: Endgame and follows the seasoned titular hero in an adventure that takes place right around the holiday season. The season showed Hawkeye how to feel again and helped him become more open to letting new people enter his life via the introduction of Kate Bishop.
The new Kate Bishop figure has been revealed on the Hot Toys Collectible Instagram page, which features the character front and center. There are multiple slides and images for fans to go through if they are curious as to what the product includes. It's a very accurate depiction of the character, as her costume in the show is heavily influenced by her comic book counterpart's appearance. Marvel Studios once again shows that it knows how to take a lesser-known character to those who don't follow comics and make them a beloved fan-favorite.
Kate Bishop isn't a typically well known hero, except to comic book readers, but it looks like Marvel Studios is looking to change that. The character appears in the recent Avengers video game, which helps a lot in terms of exposure. She's one of the new leading characters who will potentially be one of the Young Avengers, and now she will be receiving her own collectible item based on the live-action iteration.
Hawkeye also did a good job at introducing trick arrows, which were primarily in the background during Hawkeye's time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He mainly used rappel lines, explosives and other tactical arrowheads. This show, however, brought out the comic book or fictional arrowheads such as size manipulation arrows, ice arrows, and even electric arrows, to name a few. Hopefully this aspect of the character continues moving forward, even if it's just Kate Bishop from now on.
Hawkeye left the door open for a lot of possibilities for the street-level character, while also bringing back fan favourite villain Kingpin. Now fans have to wait to see what will happen moving forward with these characters, as right now Doctor Strange has a multiverse to save. Assuming the world is still alive after Doctor Strange's mission, then fans have a lot of Hawkeye and Kate Bishop to look forward to
