As Prince Zagreus battles his way through Hades, he'll face certain enemies more powerful than the rest, each of which guards the exit to a region of the Underworld. Defeating each of these bosses will reward the player with a powerful type of currency, known within the game as a Bounty.

However, players will quickly notice that once they've beaten a boss with one of the Infernal Arms, they will not receive that Bounty by fighting that boss with that weapon again. Considering the value of Titan's Blood, Diamonds, and Ambrosia in upgrading weapon aspects, purchasing contracts, winning friends, and more, Hades players may be curious as to how they can obtain more of these items.

Types Of Bounties

There are three different items that appear as bounties in Hades. Each of these items may be earned in other ways; namely, by trading with the Wretched Broker or by fulfilling prophecies on the Fated List. However, the term "bounties" refers to items collected through the methods below.

  • Titan's Blood is earned by defeating the Fury who guards the gates of Tartarus, and by beating the run's final boss.
  • Diamonds are earned by defeating the Bone Hydra in Asphodel.
  • Ambrosia is rewarded for defeating the Champions of Elysium, Theseus and Asterius.

How To Make New Bounties Appear

Hades Pact of Punishment Conditions

Earlier in the game, the only way to collect bounties is to defeat each boss with each weapon. However, after defeating the game's final boss for the first time, Zagreus will unlock the Pact of Punishment. This allows the player to select certain conditions to make the game more difficult, increasing the heat level. Before unlocking the Pact of Punishment, Zagreus can only obtain six of each bounty; however, each increase in Heat allows him to collect bounties with each weapon once again.

Note, however, that new bounties will not unlock until Zagreus has collected all the bounties with that weapon on the previous Heat level. For example, if the player has defeated the Fury Sister and the Bone Hydra with the Shield of Chaos on Level 3 Heat, but perished in Elysium, cranking the heat up to 4 will not allow them Zag to collect new bounties from those enemies. The player must clear the game with a given weapon on a given heat to obtain new bounties from higher difficulty.

This only applies to individual Infernal Arms, though — there's no need to clear Level 1 Heat with all weapons before advancing to the next Heat. Players are free to crank it up to 15 on their best weapon before trying 1 Heat on their worst.
