Unlike her older brother Zagreus, who preferred to deal with matters with his fists, Melinoe is a witch who needs plenty of ingredients to become stronger. One of these ingredients is Cattails, a rare plant that cannot grow without proper care. Before obtaining it, Hades 2 players must find Cattails Seed and grow them in their garden.

You must become stronger to reach the second game zone and fulfill the requirements for getting a suitable tool. However, obtaining the Well of Charon between the Underworld Regions and the other benefits you can gain is undoubtedly worth all the effort. Therefore, here is how to get Cattails in Hades 2.

Hades 2: How To Get Pearl

Before players can get a Pearl in Hades 2, they must get through the second stage and beat one of the game's most unique boss fights.

Where To Find Cattails Seed in Hades 2

The only way to get Cattails in Hades 2 is to grow it from seeds in your soil plots. The seeds of this plant can only be found in the Oceanus biome and dug up using the Silver Spade tool. So, if you are not familiar with these items, here are all the steps that will lead you to your goal:

Collect 1 Ash to get Crescent Pick.
Head to Erebus and collect some Silver.
Use 10 Silver to unlock Silver Spade.
Equip the Silver Spade in your next run and defeat Hecate to reach the Oceanus biome, the second game area.
Find a dig site and use Silver Spade to dig up the ground and get Cattails Seeds.

If you start the run with any other tool, you cannot dig up the seeds, even if you find a suitable excavation site. Additionally, the seed spots change location every run, so you'll have to search for the right spots again and again.

How To Grow Cattails

After collecting some seeds, you must prepare the soil by unlocking the Flourishing Soil incantation. In truth, this is one of the simplest incantations, consisting of the following steps:

Collect one yellow Moly flower in Erebus.
Unlock Flourishing Soil incantation, after which you will receive two soil plots for growing your crops.
To find soil plots and grow Cattail, go to Crossroads and search the location to the right of Incantations Cauldron and Odysseus. Plant the seeds and wait for the harvest.

How to Use Cattails in Hades 2

By collecting some Cattails and other ingredients, players will gain access to the following recipes:
