  • Hestia's boons in Hades 2 offer a range of abilities, but some may be more powerful than others.
  • Players should carefully consider the cost and utility of each new boon before deciding to acquire them.
  • Certain boons, such as Slow Cooker and Flammable Coating, can greatly enhance a Hestia build in the game.

While Hades 2 brings back numerous gods and boons from the original, for many players, it is the new additions that have them the most excited. Hades 2: What To Unlock First

There are a lot of useful items and new features in Hades 2 – these are the five you should focus on unlocking first.

Hestia is one of the new gods introduced in Hades 2. As the Goddess of Fire, her powers are centered around the ability to inflict Scorch, a super-powerful status that may be the best in the game. This list will explore all of Hestia's boons in Hades 2, and rank them in order of how useful they are overall.

Hades 2 is still in Early Access , which means it could go through several changes before an official 1.0 release. This guide will be updated if any changes in the game alter the list of Hestia's best boons.

H2-Hestia-Boon-In-World

13 Hearth Gain

Description

Effect

  • Rapidly restore Magick, but at the cost of -20% Max Life.
  • Magick Recovery:
  • Common: 7/sec
  • This boon offers a simple boost to Magick recovery, which can be very useful. Unfortunately, it comes at the cost of Max Life. There are other ways to boost Magick recovery, many of which do not have anywhere near the cost. Because of this, players should avoid taking this boon over any other from Hestia.

12 Burnt Offering

Description

Effect

  • Gain Max Life and Max Magick, but give up 1 boon selected by Hestia.
  • Max Life/Magick Gained:
  • Common: 50
  • Giving up a random boon is always difficult, especially when you've built up a collection of boons that work for you. For this reason alone, Burnt Offering earns the last spot on this list. However, it is fair to say that all of Hestia's boons can be useful. The generic nature of this boon, along with the cost, make it the last choice when there are so many better options.

11 Spontaneus Combustion

Description

Effect

  • Your Ω Special inflicts bonus Scorch if foes are unafflicted.
  • Bonus Scorch:
  • Common 80
  • Boons that add or extend other boons' powers can be useful, but should be weighed carefully against other, more powerful options. Spontaneous Combustion adds bonus Scorch to enemies who are currently unafflicted, but only for Ω Special attacks. The limited range makes it hard to recommend this boon over others.

On your early runs in Hades 2, you'll find fishing spots in several areas, but how do you go about getting a fishing rod? And what are the fish for?

10 Controlled Burn

Description

Effect

  • Your Ω Special also launches a fiery projectile, but uses +10 Magick.
  • Blast Damage:
  • Common: 80
  • Controlled Burn is one of the weaker combat boons that Hestia offers. At first glance, the extra projectile seems like it could be useful, but in reality, it is not worth the extra 10 Magick that it costs. More often than not, the unguided projectile will simply blow up without hitting a single enemy. It can be useful when dealing with large crowds in close quarters, like certain areas of Oceanus or many of the boats on the Rift of Thessaly. This is the best time to consider taking Controlled Burn.

9 Natural Gas

Description

Effect

  • Whenever Scorch-afflicted foes are slain, they damage nearby foes.
  • Blast Damage:
  • Common:60
  • With Natural Gas, the list is getting into boons that work well as a secondary option after getting a primary combat boon. It only works on Scorch-afflicted foes, meaning it needs players to have at least one boon that is capable of inflicting Scorch. When used in conjunction with something like Flame Flourish, it is incredibly powerful against groups of enemies, and really shows its power in the later stages of a run.
H2-Hestia-Everlasting-Ember

8 Fire Extinguisher

Description

Effect

  • Foes with at least 300 Scorch take a burst of damage that consumes the effect.
  • Blast Damage:
  • Common: 62%
  • Fire Extinguisher is designed to offer a burst of damage that is equal to a percentage of the 300 that must be accumulated to trigger it. Some players have reported buggy behavior, but when it works, it is incredibly powerful against larger enemies, such as Guardians. It works even better when paired with Flammable Coating, which does more damage to armor.

7 Slow Cooker

Description

Effect

  • Your Attacks and Special gain power for each Flame Boon you have.
  • Power per Flame Boon:
  • Common: +2
  • Slow Cooker is one of the best passive boons a Hestia build can have. Because so many of her boons are Flame-based, any time one is gained, your entire build becomes more powerful. Other boons of a similar type require players to meet a certain requirement of boons before a power-boost kicks in. However, this boon takes effect even if you only have one Flame boon. Adding this boon to a Hestia build is an absolute must.

6 Glowing Coal

Description

Effect

  • Hold Cast to aim a fiery projectile that explodes on impact. The binding circle forms there.
  • Blast Damage:
  • Common: +50
  • Rare: +70
  • Glowing Coal is a very useful boon that turns the basic cast into a powerful weapon. Having the ability to place a binding circle further away from Melinoë allows you to keep enemies ensnared at a distance. Consider using this with Smolder Ring to create the ultimate Hestia cast circle build.

5 Flammable Coating

Description

Effect

  • Your Scorch effects deal bonus damage to Armor.
  • Bonus Damage
  • Common: +100%
  • Anyone familiar with Hades knows that the further into a run you go, the more Armored enemies you encounter. Having Flammable Coating evens the playing field, and helps immensely in the fight against Armored Enemies. Even the Common variety of this boon doubles the damage done by Scorch, and it only gets more powerful from there. Like several other Hestia boons, this boon only works when you can already inflict Scorch. Still, it should be considered for any Hestia build.

4 Flame Strike

Description

Effect

  • Your attacks inflict Scorch
  • Scorch Damage:
  • Common: 20
  • Rare: 25
  • Epic: 30
  • This is one of two primary combat boons from Hestia. At this point, the final four boons on this list are extremely subjective, and can alternate based on several factors, including weapon choice and playstyle. Players who like to get up close and use the Sister Blades attacks, will probably find Flame Strike to be more effective than Flourish. Experiment with which weapon and boon combo are right for you.

3 Soot Sprint

Description

Effect

  • Your Sprint destroys most range shots near you, and and inflicts Scorch on foes that fired.
  • Scorch Damage per Projectile:
  • Common: 2
  • Rare: 4
  • Epic: 6
  • While stating that everything is the 'best in Hades 2' comes down to subjective experience, it's hard to imagine anyone arguing that Hestia's Soot Sprint boon is one of the best boons for sprinting in the game. Not only does it destroy a wide range of different enemy projectiles, it also inflicts Scorch on the enemy/enemies that fired them. This boon can work with any build, but it is so much more powerful in a full Hestia build that uses Flammable Coating.
H2-Hestia-Smolder-Ring

2 Smolder Ring

Description

Effect

  • Your casts repeatedly inflict Scorch on foes.
  • Scorch Damage:
  • Common: 30/sec
  • Rare: 45/sec
  • Epic: 60/sec
  • What makes Smolder Ring so good is not just how great it is to turn your basic cast circle into a weapon, but the fact that it fits incredibly well with any build. No matter which God's boons you choose to build around, picking Smolder Ring as your cast boon will always be a good idea. It requires no Magick to use, and can take out a group of enemies pretty quickly, due to the scorch effects it inflicts. If Smolder Ring is found, especially at higher rarities, make sure to grab it.

1 Flame Flourish

Description

Effect

  • Your Specials inflict Scorch
  • Scorch Damage:
  • Common: 15
  • Rare: 20
  • Epic: 25
  • Flame Flourish is Hestia's boon for Special Attack. This boon works exceptionally well when using a weapon that has a ranged special attack. Both the Sister Blades and the Witch's Staff are perfect for this boon. It's remarkable versatility and potential make it the perfect starting point for a Hestia/Scorch build, and the best boon Hestia has to offer.
