Over the years, the style of roguelites has drastically changed with good results. Games like Cult of the Lamb have elements found in popular roguelites (like Hades), but mix in some unique yet fun minigames that all gamers can enjoy playing. Don't Starve Together is another prime example of game developers reimagining the roguelite genre since the game lets players play with their friends, a feature rarely seen in roguelites.

Gunfire Reborn is another game that features fast-paced roguelite action that everyone loves while introducing a unique set of weapons, heroes, scrolls, and talents reminiscent of the Borderlands franchise. But, as with other roguelites, the more a player completes, the more complex the game gets. Fortunately, with the right Talents, players can overcome any obstacle that may come their way.

Best Expedition Talents

Expedition Talents Gunfire Reborn

The Expedition Talent tree has some of the most important talents players can use during their playthrough. Within this Talent tree, players can increase the amount of Copper and Occult Scrolls they loot from mobs. Furthermore, players can lower the price of certain items sold by the Peddler. These are the Expedition Talents players should focus on first.

Exploration

This is the most crucial Talent to unlock is the Exploration Talent since it allows players to access the Vault by breaking Glowing Cracks scattered around the map. Within the Vault, players must complete one of four challenges: Non-fighting, Fighting, Elite, or Special. Once completed, players will receive a random Occult Scroll and return the map.

Money Maker

Another essential Talent from the Expedition tree is Money Maker, since it grants players a chance to obtain double Copper while looting. As experienced Gunfire Reborn players know, Copper is needed to upgrade and purchase certain guns or heroes. Once maxed out (which costs 120 Talent Points), players will have a 25% chance of obtaining double Copper.

Bounty Hunter

Bounty Hunter is more of a niche talent, but can be useful under the right circumstances. That's because Bounty Hunter grants players three Copper per Critical Hit they make (with the exception to attacks that always deal Critical, like Cavalry). This Talent pairs well with heroes like Lei Lou, since this hero has a natural high Critical Chance stat.

Best Battle Talents

Battle Talent Gunfire Reborn

The Battle Talent tree is focused on improving specific weapon classes and Critical Chance. The choice of which Battle Talent to level highly depends on the player, but there are two Talents players should invest in early on.

Crit Enhancement

Killing mobs and bosses fast is crucial for players to complete a run, and one of the best ways to deal massive damage is through Critical Hits. Players should consider maxing Crit Enhancement as it provides an extra multiplier (.5x once maxed) to Critical Hits. But, maxing it out may take time as it needs 220 Talent points.

Unexpected Luck

Every weapon has a slight chance of multiplying a weapon's damage by a certain percentage. By investing in Unexpected Luck, players increase those odds up to 25% (once maxed). Players can use powerful weapons like the Woodpecker or Thunderclap Gloves to potentially double or triple their already powerful attacks.

Best Skill Talents

The Skill Talent tree is mostly aimed toward multiplayer gameplay, so players that aren't too invested in playing online can avoid most of the Talents on this Tree. Still, a few of them are helpful, whether one plays solo or with others.

Skill Enhancement

The Skill Enhancement talent is a must-have Talent. It will dramatically improve damage dealt by a player's Skills. A player's Skill will deal an extra 50% damage at the max level (costs 45 Talent points). However, Ao Bai players should note that this Talent doesn't affect the Dual-Wield skill.

Efficient Casting

In Gunfire Reborn, players often need to dodge or dash their way to victory. That's when Efficient Casting comes in handy, as it lowers Dash's Cooldown by -25% (once maxed).

Best Survival Talents

Survival Talent Gunfire Reborn

Players will spend most of their Talent points in the Survival tree, since it'll allow players to survive almost any encounter. But of course, not all the Talents within this tree are needed. For example, DMG Resistance may seem useful on paper, but the benefits are nearly non-existent. These talents are the best to choose.

Health Enhancement

Having more HP is always a good idea, no matter which hero players use. Players will have an extra 25 HP once they invest 45 Talent points into Health Enhancement, which may save them in more challenging game areas. Of course, there will be a certain point when mobs and bosses deal massive damage, making this Talent almost useless.

Shield Enhancement

This Talent is similar to Health Enhancement, except that instead of raising HP, it raises a player's Shield or Armor. Players can use the Emergency Protocol Talent (which reduces excess damage taken when Shield/Armor breaks) as it pairs nicely with this Talent.

Best Weapon Talents

Weapon Talent Gunfire Reborn

In Gunfire Reborn, every weapon and its stats are randomly generated (similar to the Borderlands games). With the help of some Talents in the Weapon Talent tree, players can increase the odds of obtaining a powerful weapon with a decent inscription.

Exclusive/Gemini Inscription

Both of these Talents can be worthwhile maxing since they increase the chances of obtaining weapons with Inscriptions (random modifiers). The Exclusive Inscription Talent increases the player's chances of looting a weapon with an Exclusive Inscription (Legendary modifier). The Gemini Inscription works differently than other Inscriptions, since players must obtain two weapons with the same Gemini Inscription to activate a special modifier.

Gunfire Reborn is available now for Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, PlayStation 4, Android, Nintendo Switch, and Microsoft Windows.
